We all deserve to be seen, heard, and understood. Self-expression is a necessary part of being human. Feeling safe to say what we feel provides opportunities for healing and growth, and it builds connections to others.

As we work with the throat chakra, maybe ask yourself:

What are some things you’ve wanted to do that you’ve stopped yourself from doing? What have you wanted to say? What if you just let yourself do it? Say it?

Courageously and authentically expressing ourselves is absolutely essential for finding joy, fulfillment, and purpose in our lives. When we practice giving ourselves permission to be seen and heard, we open ways for others to do the same. 💙

Create your own affirmation today by filling in the blank: “I am speaking my truth today by choosing to ______.”

Let me know what you think!

The throat chakra allows us to speak our truth and also to listen to others.

Try this meditation to connect with your throat chakra while sending and receiving loving, powerful energy.

Bring your focus to the throat, and more specifically to the front of your neck. Close the eyes and visualize that area filled with a beautiful shining blue light. Imagine that light shining outward, away from the body, and into the distance in all directions. Send your light out into the world. Use your light as a way to connect with and send positive messages to others - thinking of friends, family, or even strangers. Imagine your messages moving through the universe across time and space to anyone who might need healing and understanding without judgement.

Now take a moment to allow yourself to receive all that good energy back to you. Imagine it entering into the throat chakra by traveling along the path of your beautiful, blue light. Allow yourself to be the recipient of all the goodness of the universe without any expectations.

When you’re ready open your eyes and maybe take a moment to reflect on your experience.

Repeat often! 💙

The throat chakra, or Vishuddha chakra in Sanskrit, is the fifth energy center of the body’s main chakra system and our focus this week.

The throat chakra is the center of our communication, but not just in how we speak. It includes how clearly and authentically we are able to express how we feel and listen to others. It acts as a bridge between our emotions and intellect - our ability in understanding ourselves and others.

This chakra is located around the neck area and is associated with sound and space (ether). The throat chakra color is blue.

A few questions to ask yourself when thinking about balancing the throat chakra might include:

Do I act and speak authentically?
Am I honest with myself?
Am I fully listening to others when they are speaking?
Do I have an outlet that feels safe to express myself?
Am I able to confidently express my thoughts and feelings?
Do I respect others when they are expressing themselves even when I disagree?

Stay connected with us this week as we explore the Vishuddha chakra and dedicate our yoga practice to opening and harmonizing this energy center.

Keeping your heart open takes a lot of courage. Past hurts, uncertainty, grief, fear, and vulnerability often lead us to close our hearts so that we feel safe. Yet, our hearts were made to connect with the fullness of life. An open heart reminds us that we are alive and that love is always possible.

To feel your heart chakra, try placing the hands on your heart space. Take a few breaths to settle into your body. Bring your awareness to the heart space and notice how you feel. If there’s any emotional discomfort, imagine those feelings moving through the body and down into the earth. Let them go. Begin to see a bright green light glowing within the center of your heart. Take a deep breath in and visualize this beautiful light filling the space left behind by those negative thoughts. Breathe in the light and energy of love, joy, and compassion. Breathe out what is no longer needed. Repeat as often as possible!

Join me on Sunday morning as we continue our chakra journey with a yoga practice centered on the heart. 💚

This week we are bringing our attention to the heart chakra! 💚

The heart chakra, or Anahata chakra, is located in the center of the chest - our heart center and is associated with the color green. As the fourth of the seven primary chakras, it acts as a bridge between the lower and upper chakras. In Sanskrit, Anahata means "unstruck" or "unbeaten," implying that we can experience unconditional love. When this chakra is open, we feel free from limiting beliefs that may hold us back.

Balancing the heart chakra can help us create deeper connections with ourselves and others, cultivate inner peace, compassion, and emotional balance.

A few positive intentions to use while focusing on the heart chakra include:

I am open to receiving and giving love.
The power of love is inside of me.
I am kind to myself and others.

Stay connected this week as we explore ways to connect with the heart chakra!
