Last night we had the privilege of attending the annual Southern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce Awards at Historic London Town and Gardens, and I just want to say… thank you.
Thank you to the Chamber for creating such a meaningful evening. It was beautifully planned, filled with incredible people, and reminded all of us why community matters so much. It was an honor to be there.
But what touched my heart the most was watching businesses recognize the people behind the scenes.
So today, this post isn’t really about us.
It’s about every caregiver.
Whether you work for Arise Home Care, another agency, an assisted living community, a hospital, hospice, or whether you’re caring for your mom, dad, spouse, child, neighbor, or friend without ever receiving a paycheck…
This is for you. 💙
Thank you.
Thank you for answering calls in the middle of the night.
Thank you for working weekends, birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays while everyone else is gathered around the dinner table.
Thank you for missing family events because someone else’s family needed you more in that moment.
Thank you for helping someone prepare meals, changing linens, cleaning homes, holding trembling hands, calming fears, wiping away tears, and preserving dignity when life feels anything but dignified.
Thank you for sitting quietly beside someone when there are no more words to say.
Thank you for being the familiar face someone waits for every single day.
And thank you for staying… even until someone’s very last breath.
The world often celebrates titles, accomplishments, and business owners.
But from the bottom of my heart I KNOW caregivers are the quiet backbone of our communities.
We don’t ask for applause.
We simply show up.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Last night, Julia shared something that has stayed with me. She talked about recognizing the employees because so often business owners are the ones receiving the awards.
I couldn’t agree more.
Any recognition our company receives belongs to the people who walk through someone else’s front door every day with compassion, patience, and love.
As for me, I don’t want people to see me as anything other than the Steward God has called me to be to care for our entire community.
I pray you see Christ. Through all of this.
This business was never built to make a name for Nate and I. It was built to love people well. To serve. To care for those who are often forgotten. To remind people that they are seen, valued, and never alone.
If I have any role in that, it is simply to be a steward of what God has entrusted to us.
To our Arise Home Care family…
It is one of the greatest honors of my life to serve alongside you. Thank you for trusting me when things are hard. Thank you for allowing me to walk beside you through the beautiful moments and the heartbreaking ones. Thank you for loving our community the way you do.
I am endlessly grateful for each of you.
Today, I have one favor to ask.
Reach out to a caregiver.
Send them a text.
Give them a hug.
Pray for them.
Tell them they’re appreciated.
Because while they may never ask for recognition…
They deserve to know that their faithfulness matters.
To every caregiver reading this💕
You are seen.
You are deeply loved.
Your work has eternal value.
And I pray that every life you touch experiences the love of Christ through the way you care.
