Healing illness, injury, or loss are whole person events. Even when we begin to feel better or look healed, we are still recovering on the inside ~ physically, mentally, emotionally. The stress of disrupted & new routines, medications, anesthesia, inflammation, poor sleep, and emotional strain all hijack our hunger, digestion, microbiome, and thus our ability to optimally absorb and create nourishment for the healing energy we need. To begin recovery, our body uses up nutrient and energy reserves. That's why we often experience fatigue, brain fog, mood shifts, bowel changes, hair loss, skin & nail changes, and muscle loss during recovery. As we heal, our hunger and digestion return, our microbiome restores, and we begin to absorb nutrients. We rebuild our physical reserves which support our mental and emotional healing.
Healing is a process of nourishing, building, and growing stronger one step at a time.
Give yourself the time, tending, and caring you deserve.
