Gut and Breath Work - slow, deep breathing is a key support to gut health. When we are holding our breath from stress and anxiety, we are activating our fight or flight/sympathetic nervous system. This turns off digestion, peristalsis, and blood flow, leading to increased feelings of bloating, belching, and indigestion.
Slow, deep breathing activates our Rest. Digest. Recover/ parasympathetic nervous system. This allows digestion to begin and helps us get nourishment from our food.
Plus, deep breathing, like belly breathing, physically massages our digestive organs, increases blood flow, enhances gastric emptying which helps relieve constipation, bloating, and indigestion.

Try taking a belly breath several times during your day to support your gut health- at red lights, after every email sent, and especially before meals.
