🏊‍♀️ **Swimmer's shoulder — let's break it down.**

Overhead athletes put serious demand on the shoulder with every stroke, rep, and reach. When the mechanics aren't quite right, the joint lets you know.

Swimmer's shoulder isn't just a swimming problem — it's a *movement* problem. And movement problems have solutions. 💪

Dr. Emma @ Motus RX specializes in shoulder assessments built for athletes who want to stay in the game.

Captain America and Dr. Eric know that strength is important to support your sport performance, injury prevention, and volume of throwing.

Raegan Conradt is about to head to Florida for her next tourney and she's happy to report that Cap has her back and told her everything he knows.

Not sure he knows much about softball pitching mechanics but he is proud to report he can hold a softball twice his size overhead.

Strength wins.

Are you ready to start your journey with us at Motus to be a stronger, healthier, and more resilient athlete?

Comment "Arm" and we'll send you the 60 second Junior Athlete Arm Care Guide.

P.S. Special shout out to Becky Heimerl for constant Captain America shenanigans every week!

Shoulder tightness isn't a badge of honor. 🏅

For athletes, overuse injury patterns in the shoulder are *common* — but they're not something you just have to live with.

Your shoulder is one of the most complex joints in your body. When it's not moving well, your whole game suffers. 🎯

Understanding *why* it's struggling is the first step to getting back to full strength.

Strength and mobility training can play an important role in supporting elbow and shoulder health, movement quality, flexibility, and long-term function on the pickleball court.

Consistent routines are commonly used to encourage healthier movement patterns and support the demands of serving, reaching, and quick directional changes. Many pickleball players find that combining strength-focused exercises with mobility work helps support confidence and overall performance.

Building stability and flexibility together may contribute to more efficient movement and continued enjoyment of the game. Small, sustainable habits often create meaningful progress over time.

Pickleball places ongoing demands on the elbow, shoulder, and upper body through repetitive swings, serves, volleys, and regular play. Recovery habits such as mobility work, stretching, hydration, rest, and gradual progression are commonly used to support joint health and overall movement quality.

Many pickleball players find that balanced recovery routines help support consistency, confidence, and long-term enjoyment of the game. Small adjustments to movement and recovery habits may contribute to improved comfort and performance over time.

Learning how to support the body before and after playing can make a meaningful difference in staying active on the court.

Had a great time being a part of the Boys Junior Athlete Workshop Sole2Soul yesterday!

We discussed recovery tools that are commonly prescribed to our junior athletes, how to tell if something is just sore or something more, and what 4 things we have our Junior Athletes do every day for optimal performance.

We also talked about why the best athletes are often injured and how to make sure they are listening to their bodies and being mindful.

There were other great guest speakers talking on leadership, "being a good dude," and mindfulness for athletes so they maintain presence and have a "response not a reaction."

Highly recommend Tammy, Katie and crew over at Sole 2 Soul for your athletes mindfulness and mental performance including resilience and leadership.

Want to learn more about how we build resilient, confident, and athletes that "hurt less?"

Then comment "Junior" below and we'll DM you our 60 second Junior Athlete guide to make sure you're athlete is on the court, field or course, and not the doctors office...

Q&A: What is shoulder tendonitis? 🙋

Shoulder tendonitis = irritation of the shoulder tendons, often linked to:

🔁 Repetitive overhead movement
🎾 Throwing or racquet sports
💼 Sustained postures at work

Stiffness, tightness, or limitations when reaching? Your shoulder may be asking for some attention. 👀

Physiotherapy can help you understand what's going on and how to move better. 💪

Healthy movement habits can play an important role in supporting long-term elbow health and continued enjoyment of pickleball. Consistent mobility work, strength-focused exercise, recovery routines, and attention to movement mechanics are commonly used to support healthier movement patterns and reduce unnecessary stress on the elbow and shoulder during play. Many pickleball players benefit from learning strategies that promote better coordination, stability, and overall function on the court.

Small adjustments practiced consistently may help support sustainable activity and greater confidence during serves, volleys, and everyday movement. Building supportive routines can help keep players active for the long term.
