👀 SPOTTED this weekend : Sunsets, Straight Teeth, and Sombreros. ☺️ Dr. Keith Brassfield, owner of and my good friend, appreciates the importance of alignment and his journey is part of his total health routine. The sunset and dude in a sombrero — that’s the universe making sure our evening aligned for my perfect Instagram caption. 💛

I am truly so thankful for Keith and his wife — owner of and their studio in Gainesville. Despite being such a power couple they are so intentional in how they spend time with friends and how they are raising their family. As small business owners, aligning our business aspirations with our personal life goals can be so difficult. Surrounding ourselves with others that “just get it” helps us stay grounded and focused on the right things. 🔓 Unlocking new skills and heating things up with new tech! Last week’s all-day training with Annie was top notch. And I am so proud of my team for showing up with eagerness to learn. 💛

Our patients value quality, precision, and convenience. Our upgraded 3D printing workflow with the Pro 2 delivers all of the above and I am excited to help patients in more ways than ever before. From custom sports guards, emergency retainers or tooth replacement, to custom no-prep veneers and flexible dentures. Every woman on the planet will go through perimenopause and menopause — and these hormonal shifts can impact the quality and quantity of our saliva. This change, even if barely detected by a woman, can increase her risk for cavities, gum disease and inflammation, discomfort during function and (something I totally failed to mention in the video) bad breath.

This is a first in a series of videos in which I will explore and discuss how this phase in a woman’s life can impact and be impacted by her oral health.

Stressing the importance of building a good relationship with your dental care team. And seeking care from dentists and hygienists who are paying attention to your changing needs, recording baselines at each visit to identify shifts when they occur, and have the time built into their schedule to have conversations about your shared concerns and goals. Comprehensive dental care is a key component of your overall health.

These videos are not intended to provide medical advice and you should always consult with your own physician or dentist for diagnosis and treatment. My goal is to inspire curiosity and get more people to talk openly about perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause.

Using this cute kid (he’s mine 🩵) to remind you to take advantage of summer break to get caught up on dental appointments!

With summer around the corner, camps filling up, and the scramble to figure out what to do — plan a fun day that includes a trip to the dentist! 😅 My son is cracking up as I write this… so I’m going with it. Because his laugh gives me life.

Take the steps up to the third floor? Sports!
Oral hygiene instruction? Educational!
X Rays? STEM!
Tooth Polish? Self care!
Time with our team? FUN!!

It’s like camp but for less than an hour. But mom and dad can sit in our comfortable reception area and enjoy the air conditioning. 🫶🏽

Perimenopause & Menopause impact every woman on the planet. Marked by hormonal shifts and historically experienced by women in private — this phase can last years and symptoms typically fluctuate.

Because our mouths serve as the gateway to our whole-body health, it should come at no surprise that women often experience changes in their mouths that could impact their comfort, increase their risk for tooth decay and gum disease, or indicate that other related conditions may be occurring elsewhere in their bodies.

As I, personally navigate this phase in my life, I have become more aware of how my own patients may also be impacted. And I know that I should be part of their functional healthcare team.

Over the next few weeks I will be rolling out informational videos and posts to spark conversation and better understanding for women and the people who support them. These are not intended to be medical advice, but motivational and I hope they serve as an invitation to come in to discuss your individual concerns and needs.

Look who’s back!?! Ema the intern! 💕 With her sights locked onto dental school, she’s excited to help our team in all aspects of care and customer service. She’s always great with patients and team is excited to be back.

Ema joins our dental assistant duo — Nahomy and Sara — who are also pre-dental. It is important to me to invite dental school hopefuls into the practice to see what excellence looks like in dentistry. To promote the kind of cares that goes beyond “drill and fill”. I truly believe that healthcare is suffering because we have allowed third parties (ahem, insurance) to influence patient and provider decisions — and I’m standing up against those trends. My hope is that the future of dentistry is inspired to focus on the patient experience, invest the time to build relationships and trust, and stand for the true value of the care we provide our patients.

Here’s to inspiring smiles through inspiring our future dentists!

Dear Diary, when can we do this again??? This weekend with didn’t disappoint. I feel like I made so many new friends and the dopamine hits from seeing these docs start thinking about patient care in a whole new light, are going to carry me through the rest of the week!

My face hurts from smiling so much. 😂 A HUGE thank you to all of the amazing clinicians who trusted us with their education, invested their time to elevate how they care for their patients, and engaged enthusiastically with their peers to create unmatched energy over occlusion. When nerds unite! 😜 I look forward to seeing you at future courses and watching you grow.
