to where it all began. 🌎 I was just six months old when my parents led their first medical field course in Mexico in the 1980s. More than four decades and 100+ adventures across all seven continents later, that spirit of combining medicine, travel, and adventure continues to shape everything we do at MedTreks.

Hello, September! 🌎✨ My favorite month of the year 🥰 Over the next few weeks, four MedTreks groups and 60+ medical professionals will be heading out into the world with us!

Throughout the month, we’re also going to take you a little more behind the scenes of MedTreks: who we are, where we came from, how we build our adventures, the people who make them happen, and what makes traveling with MedTreks a little different.

The opportunity to be part of a place for a little while ✨

To travel somewhere and not just see it, but experience it through the people who call it home. To sit around their table. Eat food grown and raised on the land around you. Share a bottle of wine, hear a few stories, and settle into the rhythm of a different place.

Next February, we’ll ride horses through open valleys and along rivers, swim in the river, warm up in the wood-fired sauna, eat incredible farm-to-table meals, and spend each evening back at a family-run, 100,000-acre working ranch tucked into the foothills of the wildest corners of Argentina.

We are so excited to share this experience with you…and we have just ONE room left for two horse-loving travelers 🧳

Photographers are always chasing the light. But when we're designing a MedTreks journey...

We're chasing a different kind of light.

✨ The warm glow of a fireplace after a day on the trail.

✨ Candlelight flickering across a table filled with new friends and incredible local food.

✨ The first rays of morning streaming through the windows of a cozy mountain lodge.

✨ Lanterns lighting a quiet courtyard as stories are shared long after dinner is over.

✨ The soft evening light casting shadows on a hillside that somehow makes everyone slow down just a little.

A place isn't memorable simply because it's beautiful.

It's memorable because of how it makes you feel.

Warm. Welcome. Connected.

It's not just about the trails you hike...It's about the chairs you get to sit in. ☀️☕

Sometimes we're so focused on getting to the next viewpoint that we forget to simply take in a few extra moments where we are...

To smile at the local waitress. To practice a few words in another language with the person at the table next to you. To admire the artwork hanging on a restaurant wall and ask about the creation of the furniture that decorates a place.

To linger just a little longer.

At MedTreks, we certainly love epic hikes and days packed full of adventure...and yes we pick our restaurants for quality of food..but it is ALSO about the vibe...and the chairs you get to sit in ✌🏼
