Midwives, physicians, and community partners recently gathered at Athens-Limestone Hospital for a special luncheon facilitated by Mother-Baby Nurse Manager Kacey Parker in recognition of the International Day of the Midwife. 💚

Hosted by The MOM Foundation, this event was about more than sharing a meal — it was about building trust, strengthening communication, and working together to improve maternal health and birth outcomes in our community.

When we take time to listen, respect each role, and stay focused on what matters most — safe, supported mothers and babies — we create a stronger, more connected system of care for everyone.

We’re grateful for the meaningful conversations, the collaboration, and the shared commitment to making a difference.

Every baby deserves a safe place to sleep. 💚

Athens-Limestone Hospital is proud to support efforts across Alabama to educate families about infant safe sleep. Through initiatives like Project C.R.I.B.S. from the Alabama Perinatal Quality Collaborative, hospitals are working together to help parents and caregivers create safer sleep environments and reduce sleep-related infant deaths.

Remember the ABCs of Safe Sleep:
✔ Alone – Baby sleeps alone
✔ Back – Always place baby on their back
✔ Crib – Use a firm, flat surface in a crib, bassinet, or pack-and-play
