A broken bus A/C is not a comfort problem. It is a liability sitting in traffic.

When the cabin climbs past ninety with a full load of riders, you are not looking at grumbling. You are looking at heat exhaustion on a vehicle you are responsible for, complaint calls to your office, and elderly and disabled passengers who cannot regulate their own body temperature the way everyone else can. And it always fails in July, never in the shop. Our EPA 608 certified technicians service transit and fleet A/C before the season breaks it: inspect and clean the condenser, check refrigerant, test the electrical, verify airflow and temperatures, and hand you the documentation. Preventive maintenance is cheaper than a pulled bus, and a whole lot cheaper than an incident report.

The first company charged him twice what we did.

For a lift that was never built to sit outside.

Here is the whole ugly sequence, and it is worth two minutes if anybody in your family is shopping for a stairlift right now.

They sold him an indoor-rated unit at double the price of the correct equipment, then mounted it outdoors. Weather got into the electronics. The system shorted. The unit was finished. They had also never registered the product for warranty, so when he went looking for coverage, the manufacturer had no obligation to help him with a failure on a machine that was never rated to live outside in the first place. Then the company stopped answering the phone. He did the research himself. He made every call himself. The people who took his money were gone by the time he needed them.

That is when he called us.

We put a Bruno Elite SRE-2010 outdoor stairlift on his porch steps in Athens, Georgia, for half of what he paid the first time. The Elite SRE-2010 is engineered for exterior installation, which is a different machine, not a marketing adjective. Our licensed, factory-certified specialist Mason handled the install, registered the warranty the same day, and had the unit on our service schedule before he pulled out of the driveway.

So he paid twice for access he should have had once, and the wrong version cost him double the right one. Read that again if you are about to sign something.

Four questions. Ask them of anybody who wants to touch your stairs.

Is this unit rated for outdoor use, or are you about to put an indoor lift in the weather?
Are you licensed and factory-certified on this specific equipment?
Who registers the warranty, and on what date?
Who comes back for service and repair, and can I have that in writing?

A high price tag proves nothing. A weekend manufacturer training course is a class, and a class is not a license. Anybody with a drill can get a lift up a set of steps on a sunny afternoon. Coming back is the business. Coming back in year three, in the rain, when there is no new sale attached to the visit. That is what you are actually paying for.

He served this country with distinction, then came home and slowly lost the top half of his own house.

Watch what one day of work did about it.

He is in his fifties now, managing service-related injuries, and his staircase had turned into a wall. A wall in the middle of your own house has a way of shrinking the whole thing down to one floor. So we put a brand new Bruno Elan SRE-5000 straight-rail stairlift on that staircase in Ellenwood, Georgia. Bruno rolled this platform out in June of 2026, which makes his one of the first SRE-5000 installations in the country. Straight rail, folding seat and footrest, retractable belt, mounted tight against the wall side so the stairs stay perfectly usable for everyone else in the house.

Now look at the video again. That chair is riding empty, and that is on purpose. Our licensed, factory-certified specialist Mason finished the install and then took the entire trip himself, top to bottom, listening to the drive and testing every stop, because the homeowner should never be the one who discovers a problem. The customer gets the second ride. Always.

We put equipment in a lot of houses. Every so often we get to hand somebody the rest of their home back, and that is the day that makes the whole trade worth learning.

The box is the easy part. Everything after the box is where companies disappear.

Plenty of places will sell you a wheelchair, a lift, or a ramp. They ring it up, they outsource the install to whoever is cheapest that week, and then they are gone the moment something needs adjusting. One-size-fits-most, good luck. We do the opposite. A curved staircase is why most people are told a stairlift will not work in their home. Here is what actually goes into one.

Those dominoes are not decoration. Every step, every landing, and every obstruction on this staircase gets marked and photographed so the rail can be built to fit this house and no other. Bruno Elan with a folding rail, Buckhead. Mason’s install. Every lift runs the stairs alone before anybody sits in it.

Watch the bottom of the rail. It folds up out of the way when nobody is riding, so the foot of the staircase stays clear. That one detail is what talks families into a stairlift after they have already said no. Seat folds, armrests fold, footrest folds, and the stairs still work for everyone else in the house.

The first trip this chair ever made, it made empty.

That is a Bruno Elan straight stairlift in Buckhead, running its first pass down the staircase after Mason finished the install. Every lift makes that trip alone before anyone sits in it. You send it down, you watch the full run, you listen to it, and you check it against the rail one more time. Nobody rides a machine we have not run first. Now look at the bottom of the rail. It folds. In a house where the stairs empty into a foyer or a hallway, a rail running out across the floor is a tripping hazard and an eyesore, and plenty of families talk themselves out of the whole idea because of it. This one lifts up and gets out of the way when nobody is riding. The armrests fold. The seat folds. The footrest folds. The rail fastens to the stair treads, so your walls stay your walls.
