Wade Menefee, AGACNP-BC

Wade and his wife have been married for 13 years and have a son and daughter along with their 4-legged kids. He received his Master’s of Science in Nursing from Walden University. He is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Wade has spent most of his career caring for patients with both Dementia and psychiatric diagnoses. In 2024 he was presented with the opportunity to join Mission Behavioral Health as a co-owner. In this role, he and his team work with local long-term care facilities to provide mental health services to their residents to maintain their best quality of life.

Chastity Ayers, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C

Chastity and her husband have been married for 28 years and have two daughters along with their four-legged children. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Sanford University specializing in Family Practice as well as her Post-Masters from the University of Alabama specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health. She is a fellow of the American Association of nurse practitioners.

Through Chastity’s passion for mental and psychiatric care of her patients, this led her to her current role of co-owner and operator of Mission Behavorial Health. In this vital role, she and her team worked closely with rule long-term care facilities to intervene with behavioral health needs and provide services needed to achieve improve residential outcomes.

While providing these services, the need became apparent for outpatient mental health services for the surrounding area and lead to the expansion of Mission Behavioral Health to opening the outpatient office.

**Opening Announcement**

Mission Behavioral Health will open our outpatient doors on June 1, 2026!

We will open our schedule to begin taking appointments on Thursday, May 28, 2026 & Friday, May 29, 2026. Call the office number to get your appointment scheduled. (256) 795-8143

Are you a Licensed Independent Clinic Social Worker (LICSW) or know one? Are you looking to work with a team of mental health providers that solely exists because we are passionate about people? Then you are looking in the right place!

We are currently looking for 2-3 LICSWs to provide counseling services to patients in contracted North Alabama long-term care facilities as well as in our outpatient office.

We are getting closer to opening day! More information to come on the official day. We are so excited to provide Athens and surrounding communities with mental health and psychiatric services in a comfortable home like environment.

**Exciting news coming to Athens and surrounding areas**

Mission Behavioral Health (MBH) has been providing Mental Health and Psychiatric services to North Alabama long-term care facilities since 2021. We are expanding our services to include an outpatient clinic located right here in Athens! We provide comprehensive mental health services through a unified, whole-person approach. We recognize that mental health is shaped by each individual’s unique mental health needs, personal history, life circumstances, and goals. By looking beyond symptoms alone, we create thoughtful, personalized treatment plans that support both emotional well-being and overall quality of life.
