🗓️ This month marked exactly 20 years since the day I caught my very first baby. I was 28 years old and nine months pregnant with my 3rd child, who was born at home 12 days later.

💚 Today, 719 births later, my practice is thriving, though home birth with a midwife still only accounts for 2% of all births in this country.

➡️ 20 years ago people said I was crazy for doing what I do and 20 years later some still say that. But for many others, their lives were changed for the better because I do what I do. Women have been empowered, motivated, and healed because of the energy I pour into what I believe in- which is the right for women to choose where and with whom to give birth. I’m proud of that.

✨ I hope you are proud of your work and inspired to change lives for the better, too. It takes time to see real change, and we may not see it in our lifetime, but if you are doing the good work to move toward progress, however small, you are doing big work that will have lasting effects far greater than you may ever know. The world needs you.
