Say hello to this familiar face!
✨Welcome back Haley Kellum, our newest Occupational Therapist at PK!✨

Haley graduated with her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in May, then joined the PK team as an Occupational Therapist this August.

FUN FACT! When Haley was studying at Baker University, she was a student at PK learning about occupational therapy as well!

Haley has a passion for pediatrics and helping kids become the best versions of themselves. Her biggest accomplishment is writing an article for OT practice and presenting it at KOTA!

Outside of work, Haley spends her time with her boyfriend, Brett, and their 2 ½ year old yellow lab. Haley and Brett also just purchased a home together, and have been improving it in their free time.

When asked who inspires her most, Haley says Peggy Keller, the owner of PK Therapy, has been a great mentor to her. Haley says Peggy has always been very welcoming and inviting, and always helping Haley learn and grow as an OT.

Fun fact: If Haley could master anything instantly, she would want to know ASL or another language!

Thank you, Haley, for rejoining us at PK Therapy! We are so excited to see you grow and become an incredible OT for your clients, and impact this community. 🩷🩵

A steady beat can help children build important skills like attention, impulse control, and sensory regulation. A metronome may be a simple tool, but it can have a meaningful impact on how children organize their bodies and emotions.

Read our latest blog, “The Surprising Power of a Metronome: How Rhythm Supports Emotional Regulation,” by Alyssa Davis, COTA/L, to learn more!

Children who struggle with emotional regulation often experience the world as unpredictable, fast, or overwhelming. Their bodies may move too quickly, their emotions may escalate suddenly, or their attention may drift without warning. For many of these children, the underlying challenge isn’t simp...

This kiddo has been making such meaningful strides in OT! We’re seeing growing confidence, stronger fine motor skills, improved sensory regulation, and more independence in everyday tasks. From purposeful grasp and pre-writing skills to buttoning, opening containers, following directions, and staying regulated through challenges, this kiddo is showing just how much hard work can pay off.

We’re so proud of these accomplishments and love watching all the pieces come together!
