🚨 Air Quality Alert for Our Animal Friends 🚨
With air quality at unhealthy levels today and tomorrow, it's important to take extra precautions for both you and your pets. Smoke and poor air quality can put added stress on the respiratory system, especially for our more vulnerable companions.
🐾 Pets at higher risk include:
• Brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus, and Persian cats
• Senior pets
• Pets with heart or respiratory concerns
• Young puppies and kittens
Tips for getting through the next few days:
Keep all windows and doors closed, and don't forget to close your fireplace damper if you have one.
Diffuse doTERRA Air-X® as part of your home wellness routine. Always diffuse in a well-ventilated area, give your pets the freedom to leave the room, and discontinue use if they seem uncomfortable.
Support your own wellness with Breathe® Respiratory Drops as desired. (For human use only.)
🐾 For your pets:
• Keep walks and potty breaks as short as possible.
• Avoid strenuous exercise until air quality improves.
• Provide plenty of fresh water and a calm, restful environment indoors.
⚠️ Watch for signs your pet may be struggling:
• Heavy panting or rapid breathing
• Increased effort to breathe
• Pale, bright red, or bluish gums
• Excessive drooling
• Weakness, lethargy, or collapse
If your pet is showing signs of respiratory distress, seek veterinary care immediately.
And while you're caring for your own furry family members, don't forget our wildlife friends. A shallow dish of fresh water can be a lifesaver on smoky, hot days. 💦🐦🦋
Stay safe, breathe easy, and give your furry companions a little extra indoor love today. 🐾
