Well, Maggie is still a little camera shy, but her cousin Nola isn't! 🐶

Nola had no problem showing us how DOOR-E fits into everyday life.

And yes, DOOR-E is designed with pets in mind, too. If something gets in the way while the door is opening or closing, DOOR-E stops. For kids and pets alike.

No animals were harmed in the making of this video. 😂

What kinds of doors can DOOR-E work with?
It’s a question we’ve been getting, and it’s a good one!

DOOR-E was designed for standard interior doors, helping make everyday spaces like bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, and other rooms easier to navigate.

But every space is a little different. Door sizes, handles, floor surfaces, and other factors can vary, so you may be wondering if DOOR-E is a good fit for the doors in your life.

Found DOOR-E. 🍂

We lost track of them for a minute. Turns out they were getting their leaf pile on. Not that we can blame them.

Fall brings changing leaves, cooler mornings, fresh routines, and plenty of memories to make with the people we love.

We believe accessibility should make room for people to live life on their own terms.

That means creating technology that can adapt to different homes, routines, and needs.

With DOOR-E, flexibility is built in. Choose how you activate it, including through the smart home system you already use. Customize the settings to your needs, and move it to whatever door you need at the moment.

Because the best solutions leave room for people to make them work in their own way.

That’s what DOOR-E is all about. 💙

If you don't know Rich Daniels yet, it's time you did.

Rich's experience has played an important role in shaping DOOR-E from the very beginning. Having lived with mobility challenges since childhood, he knows firsthand how much of an obstacle a door can become when you're using a scooter or wheelchair.

As Rich put it:

“Although I have built a strong upper-body from constant use, I still find it very difficult to open the door with no hands available.

Most able-bodied people take their fully functioning body for granted and are not aware of how physically challenging life can be for the rest of us. It can be exhausting!”

When we asked Rich what DOOR-E means to him, his answer went beyond making a door easier to open:

“DOOR-E, to me, means relief! Both physically and mentally.”

That relief means taking some of the strain out of everyday life, allowing him to conserve his energy for the things that matter.

We're so grateful to Rich for helping inspire and shape DOOR-E. His perspective continues to remind us why this work matters. We can't wait to share more. 💙

Can someone please tell us where August went? 😂

It's already been a MONTH since DOOR-E made its debut at Abilities Expo Houston.

And even crazier to think that a year prior, we were sharing ideas and early prototypes with the very same crowd.

It feels a little serendipitous that DOOR-E got to make its entrance at the same event.

From an idea to early prototypes to where we are now, we've come a long way. And we're even more excited for what's ahead. 💙

Yes, DOOR-E can handle carpet. 😁

One of the things we wanted to make sure of while developing DOOR-E was that it could work across the kinds of surfaces people actually have in their homes.

So naturally, we had to test it.

Here's a little behind-the-scenes look at DOOR-E doing its thing with our friends at Very.
