🌿 "The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore, the physician must start from nature, with an open mind." — Paracelsus 🌿
As we have shared before, Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim—also known as Paracelsus—is uniquely referred to as the "father of toxicity." He was a Swiss alchemist, physician, philosopher, and medical revolutionist who studied the effects of chemical substances and how they impacted living organisms, carefully treating them if they showed signs of toxin exposure.
His works created a foundation for the early modern medical movement that investigated natural elements and how the inner workings of nature were closely tied to healing and recovery. Unlike his predecessors, who had been reliant on ancient medical texts, Paracelsus viewed nature as his own healing text and reference tool, using observation alongside application to break perceived boundaries in medical practice and understanding.
Through his careful observation, he came to believe that nature possessed incredible healing abilities and that the art of healing itself came directly from nature, rather than solely from the physician, which is what modern medicine relies so heavily on today. Unfortunately, much of society and various corporate influences have separated nature and medicine in such a way that many people don’t understand or perceive the healing power that nature actually holds.
