In Istanbul, Türkiye, World Trade Center Delaware had the honor of meeting with AmCham Türkiye Executive Director Aslı Özelli and Elif Soyer, Member Relations and Business Development Director, to discuss the growing opportunities between Türkiye and the United States.

AmCham Türkiye works with 135+ prominent U.S. companies, representing more than $60 billion in investment, and continues to play an important role in strengthening U.S.–Türkiye economic and commercial relations.

The United States and Türkiye have developed a strong business relationship over the years, supported by the presence of U.S. companies in Türkiye and the continued growth of bilateral trade. Preliminary findings from AmCham Türkiye’s history project highlight the important contributions of U.S. companies across key industries including automotive, agriculture, and education, pillars that continue to shape this relationship today.

As World Trade Center Delaware begins organizing a Türkiye trade mission for next year, this meeting represents another meaningful step toward creating new opportunities for Delaware businesses, expanding global partnerships, and strengthening trade between our regions. Thank you to AmCham Türkiye for the warm welcome and productive conversation. We look forward to building on this important relationship.

Delaware–Turkey partnerships are creating new pathways for trade, investment, and business growth, delivering exciting opportunities for Delaware companies on the global stage.

Thank you to Haluk Kanca, General Manager of World Trade Center Istanbul, and Okay Basbug, Marketing and Foreign Affairs Manager, for such a warm welcome and productive discussions. We are also grateful to Dr. Ali Colak of World Trade Center Ankara for an incredible day of connection and opportunity.

We also had the pleasure of learning more about Dr. Colak’s business, Soyut Wind, and its innovative work in renewable energy. Discussions are already underway regarding the potential for a Delaware location, opening the door for future collaboration and investment.

Next on the agenda: the Global Summit of Women in Istanbul, where we are proud to welcome and support Delaware businesses in attendance. The future of trade is built through relationships, innovation, and global partnerships and Delaware is at the table.

The 2026 WTCA Global Business Forum may have wrapped up, but the conversations are just getting started!

We were honored to be part of the Women@WTCA Breakfast at this year’s Forum, hosted by WTC Greater Philadelphia, a powerful gathering focused on connection, unity, and building a stronger global network for women across the WTCA community.

Our very own Dr. Mary Swenson, President of World Trade Center Delaware took the stage to remind us all: women are the silent giants of the global economy and it’s time to rise together. 🌍

The energy in that room was something special. Conversations sparked. Relationships deepened. Community took shape.

And this is just the beginning. Join us for our next Women@WTCA virtual meeting on Wednesday, June 24, from 9:00–10:00 a.m. EDT. It is held in recognition of the International Day of Women in Diplomacy.

Because when women come together, not just to connect, but to support and empower one another and they become each other’s strength. 💙

Interested in shaping what comes next? We welcome your ideas and collaboration! Email [email protected] to get involved.

World Trade Center Delaware was honored to have a seat at the table at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City for the 11th Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation.

This powerful gathering brought together global leaders, innovators, policymakers, and changemakers to explore how science, technology, and innovation can accelerate sustainable development, economic opportunity, and inclusive growth around the world.

For Delaware, this conversation matters.

As a small state with global reach, Delaware has an important role to play in connecting businesses, entrepreneurs, universities, innovators, and international partners to the opportunities shaping the future of trade, technology, and economic development.

At World Trade Center Delaware, we are committed to ensuring that Delaware businesses are not only part of the global conversation, but positioned to lead within it.

Grateful to be part of this important forum and inspired by the global collaboration taking place at the United Nations.

WTC Delaware President, Dr. Mary Schreiber Swenson, met with Wale Adelagunja of the Delaware African & Caribbean Affairs Commission, Kenneth Wong and David Oh of the Asian American Business Alliance for Greater Philadelphia (AABAGP), and Rodney Little of the Veterans Multi-Service Center

Together, we explored emerging trade opportunities across China, South Korea, and broader markets throughout Asia and Africa—highlighting the importance of collaboration in driving international business growth.

We were honored to welcome H.E. Ambassador Frédéric Bernard, Ambassador of Belgium to the United States, and Bart Deelen, Senior Economic Advisor at the Embassy of Belgium in the United States of America, to World Trade Center® Delaware earlier today.

During the visit, we were pleased to present Ambassador Bernard with a token of appreciation in recognition of his engagement and support of Delaware-Belgium relations.

This meaningful exchange provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen strategic dialogue around trade, investment, and long-term economic ties.

We look forward to building on this momentum and fostering even deeper collaboration in the future.

Honored to be part of such a powerful gathering at the United Nations for the Global Women Leadership Summit & Impact Award Ceremony, chaired by Jing Zhang Cesarone.

This was a POWERHOUSE of convening of global leaders, innovators, investors, and changemakers committed to advancing women’s leadership and accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals toward 2030.

One of the most important conversations pertaining to the WTC Delaware TRADE for me was centered on capital access and investment power. Around the world, women continue to lead with vision, resilience, and innovation, yet too many still face barriers to the funding, networks, and market opportunities needed to scale their businesses and expand their impact.

Access to capital is more than a financial issue. It is an economic development issue, a leadership issue, and a global competitiveness issue. When women have greater access to investment, markets, and strategic partnerships, they do not just grow companies they create jobs, strengthen communities, and help shape a more inclusive and prosperous global economy.

This summit brought together a powerhouse of speakers and thought leaders who are helping move this conversation from inspiration to action. I am grateful to Jing Zhang Cesarone for her leadership in creating a platform that elevates women’s voices, global collaboration, and the urgent need to build stronger pathways to capital and opportunity.

The future economy will be shaped by those who ensure that women are not simply included in the conversation, but fully empowered to lead it.
