We didn’t know this was an option.

When my son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, it happened fast, and it landed us in the hospital with DKA. What I’ve learned since then… is that in some cases, there may be ways to see this coming earlier.

This isn’t about fear...it’s about awareness.

Type 1 diabetes isn’t something I learned from a textbook, it’s something my family lives every day.

That’s why attending the 2026 Type 1 Diabetes Symposium hosted by the Pediatric Endocrinology team at St. Luke's University Health Network meant so much.

As Glucose Guy continues to grow, I’m committed to bridging the gap between what’s said in the room… and what families experience at home.

We took away valuable insights, but more importantly, clarity on how to keep showing up for this community with content that actually helps.

Grateful to be in the room, learning from those leading the charge.
