We assisted in pre-participation physicals at Indian Springs School!

Our dedicated team of orthopaedic sports surgeons, physicians, fellows, athletic trainers, and administrative staff conducted musculoskeletal exams and medical screenings to student-athletes, ensuring they are healthy and ready for the season ahead.

Dr. Amit Momaya presented on the latest concepts in shoulder instability diagnosis and treatment, while Dr. Chris Grijalba and Megan Haynes, ATC, hosted a Physician’s Practice breakout session, highlighting the use of Point-of-Care Ultrasound in both clinic and sideline settings.

When Karma Kilgore stepped onto the court for summer travel basketball, she was ready for a breakout season, but a hard fall changed everything. After suffering a devastating ACL and meniscus injury, Kilgore turned to Amit Momaya, MD, and UAB Sports & Exercise Medicine for expert care and a path back to the sport she loves.

"I was making rapid progress and hitting my physical markers much faster than I expected. I was working so hard to get back on the court."
