I put the Dexcom G7 and Instinct CGM head-to-head to see how similar the numbers would be.

My take? Overall, pretty close.

For a little context, both report an adult MARD around 8.2%—but MARD is a population-level measure of sensor accuracy, not a guarantee that two sensors will give you the exact same number at the exact same moment.

And honestly, this is why I don't think there's one “best” CGM for everyone with T1D.

The best one is the one that works well for you—including the accuracy, app interface, alarms, wear experience, pump compatibility, and how you actually like using the technology.

The tech should fit your diabetes management, not the other way around. 💛

I just renewed my Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification.

Diabetes technology and treatments are changing quickly, and staying current means I can better help patients navigate CGMs, insulin pumps, medications, and all the data that comes with them.

This isn't just about adding letters after my name. It’s about bringing up-to-date knowledge, new technology, and practical guidance to the people I care for... and meeting them where they are, without judgment.

I know how important that is, because I live with diabetes too. 💛

Access might be what gets you here. Quality is what keeps you here.

Same or next-day appointments are great.
Self-scheduling is pretty awesome too.
Being able to text when something comes up? Nice.

Access matters. A lot.

But having someone who knows you, listens, and follows through?
That's the part that matters long after the appointment is over. 💛

It's a free diabetes data platform that can bring information from CGMs, insulin pumps, glucose meters and other devices together in one place.

Which means more data. More context. More opportunities to spot patterns.

I had a great conversation with Brian about all of this—and the personal connection to T1D that makes the work even more meaningful.

This is the kind of diabetes nerdiness I can get behind. 🤓

High blood sugar can leave its mark on our cells through a process called glycation.

We can get a glimpse of that story through an A1C.

When red blood cells become less flexible, they can have a harder time moving through tiny blood vessels, contributing to vascular damage over time.

Okay, this is pretty cool. 🤓 I’m playing around with a new feature in the Libre app called Libre Assist, and it takes Libre 3 plus CGM data + AI into some interesting territory.

Libre Assist lets you snap a picture of a meal (or type it in), then generates an AI prediction of the potential glucose impact from the food, giving personalized suggestions to help flatten out after meal spikes before you take the first bite.

Even more exciting, the app links to your actual sensor glucose data to show how your body actually responded.

Is it perfect? No. Since it's generative AI predictions might not be accurate and your judgement is needed before making any treatment decisions. But as a tool for learning your own patterns? This takes food logging to a whole new level!
