What exactly is medical ozone therapyâand why do we use it at ProVita Wellness?
Most of us know ozone (Oâ) as a form of oxygen, but when medical-grade ozone is used in a carefully controlled therapeutic setting, it creates a brief, measured oxidative stimulus that may activate the bodyâs own adaptive defense systems.
Think of it less as âgiving the body more oxygenâ and more as signaling the body to respond.
Research suggests medical ozone may influence several important pathways:
⢠Antioxidant defenses: Ozone-induced oxidative signaling may activate Nrf2, an important regulator of our own antioxidant enzymes.
⢠Inflammation & immune signaling: Ozone may influence cytokines and other pathways involved in immune and inflammatory regulation.
⢠Circulation & oxygen delivery: Research suggests ozone may influence red blood cell oxygen release, nitric oxide signaling and microcirculation.

And an important distinction: medical ozone is NOT inhaled. Ozone gas can damage the lungs when inhaled. Medical ozone therapy uses controlled concentrations and specific routes of administration.
