Lindsay's second child was curious, brilliant, and fell apart every time reading came up.
She tried everything. Letter tiles, sand trays, apps, games. He just wanted to stack the tiles into towers and feel the sand with his hands.

By second grade, he was still at kindergarten level. Testing took days instead of hours. There were bribes, meltdowns, and a mum who was out of ideas.
Then she found the Davis Method.

"I wanted to write and share our daughter's progress. We brought her to work with you when she was in first grade because of her dyslexia. Madison just inished 8th grade and will be headed to high school next year where she is taking all honors classes. She finished eighth grade with all As and A+s, with no modifications. In a class of 458, she was one of 78 students to receive the Presidential Award for Outstanding Academic Achievements. She is also an avid reader who always has a book with her. Madison would not be where she is today without your work with her and the Davis Mastery for Dyslexia Program. Thank you for all you do!"

Three to four meltdowns a day. Each one lasting 20 minutes. Imagine how exhausting that was for Sophia and her mother, Mary, wishing she could provide comfort.

That was Sophia's life before the Davis Concepts for Life program. She has sensory processing disorder and couldn't accurately process what she saw, heard, or felt, leaving her in constant fear. She was glued to her mother's side. Sophia had never felt peaceful.
The first time Sophia used a Davis tool, her mum asked how she felt. Sophia said quietly: "I feel peaceful."

Over the following months, the meltdowns stopped. She began developing her own preferences, her own wants. She started becoming herself.

She'd tried tutors. She'd tried apps. She'd tried phonics programs that promised results and didn't deliver.
