Thinking of both my momma’s today, knowing their spirits resonate in all of life’s energy as I watch the birds fly, and the leaves dance in the wind. They were strong, independent, beautiful, yet quirky in their own way. I am so grateful for their example of what a woman could be in the world and their gentle shaping of the woman I have become.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you momma’s out there. Whether you have children or not, your presence and your guidance is shaping the next generation. Big love to you all!

“Travel far, travel often, and travel without regrets.” —Oscar Wilde

I'll be taking a temporary detour from December 13th to January 14th. During this time, my studio will be closed while I explore Florence, Italy for rejuvenation and cultural immersion.

After falling in love with Florence last summer, I knew I had to return and experience more of what this magical city has to offer. I'm excited to meet new faces, create lasting memories and…of course eat amazing food through the holiday season.

My schedule has been booking up since announcing my travels, so if you are needing some care soon I’d booking now. And feel free to book into January, Makia Rising’s doors will be back open January 14th! Also, if you’d like to be on the waiting list for last minute openings please DM me.

How are we doing out there fellow humans? It’s a wild ride some days, isn’t it?

I’m constantly surprised by the twists and turns. I try to stay open. I try to love. I try to laugh about it. I try to learn. I try to grow. I try to feel fully. I try to give.

Letting go of “how I think life should be” and accepting how it is RIGHT NOW, RIGHT HERE. I don’t want to miss it, wishing it looked a certain way… each yummy moment that tumbles into the next when I don’t pay attention.

One thing is certain is that we don’t know how long we have in this lifetime. How do you want to live each day? You have the power to choose! That is what we do… we choose over and over and over again. We embrace the sh*tty days as much as the joyful days. We love. We laugh. We learn. We feel. We grow. We give.

What an incredible ride!

TRANSFORMATION

This human process is so incredible if you look at it from a certain view point.

The way that we are right now is the way that we’ve needed to be up until this very moment. Literally. There is nothing wrong with that. These internal programs have created habits in us that have kept us functional. Isn’t that amazing?! How beautifully strong we have been!

THEN we have a moment (or two or ten) when we wake up!

It could come from internal struggle or an event that pushes us to say, “hey wait this doesn’t work for me anymore. I want new way of being in the world.”

That’s our moment of choice!

CHOICE is our super power! It is that delicious moment when we decide to start our transformation. It is the moment when we put a wrench in the system. At first it feels foreign and stressful. The Nervous System doing its protective job, sending us messages, “hey this isn’t right, there is something wrong!”

That’s when we literally lean on choice!

We choose over and over and over again! It becomes our daily practice. Choosing the new YOU…until little by little we start to see and feel transformation happen. We begin to live from that place.

We finally spread our new wings and fly.
