In honor of this magical Easter weekend, tomorrow and Sunday every customer who visits Earth Cura Apothecary gets to choose an Easter egg filled with special prizes, exclusive discounts, and sweet surprises.

And the celebration continues all next week as we joyfully honor 2 years of Earth Cura Apothecary in Carmel by the Sea.

Two years of herbs, healing, beauty, ritual, and community. Two years of gathering, growing, and creating something so special together. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for every person who has stepped through our doors, shared tea with me, trusted my remedies, and become part of this living dream.

And I always smile because that scent isnโ€™t just one thing

Itโ€™s the diffuser softly going
itโ€™s herbs being blended
itโ€™s oils being poured and remedies being made
itโ€™s people opening jars, spraying perfumes, exploring

Itโ€™s layers and layers of plant medicine moving through the air

Sometimes I wish I could bottle up the exact scent of this apothecary

the conversations

New Moon Reflections

The new moon is hereโ€ฆ a sacred pause, a dark sky, a quiet reset.

As a woman, I feel this phase deeply. Itโ€™s a time when emotions can rise to the surface; subtle, tender, sometimes heavy, sometimes expansive. A pull inward. A desire to rest, to reflect, to just be.

This is why I track the moon.
Because Iโ€™ve come to understand that my body already does.

Our cycles are not separate from nature, they are nature. The same rhythm that moves the tides, grows the plants, and shifts the seasons lives within us. And when we honor that, everything softens. Thereโ€™s less resistanceโ€ฆ more trust.

The new moon reminds me that itโ€™s okay to slow down.
To not have all the answers.
To sit in the unknown and let something new quietly begin.

This is also why the moon is my logo.
She represents the feminineโ€ฆ the cyclicalโ€ฆ the ever-changing yet constant energy that lives within us as women. A symbol of intuition, creation, and deep inner knowing.

I feel so grateful to be a woman.
To feel, to create, to move with these rhythms.
To be connected to the earth and her cycles in such an intimate way.

I love watching the different colored oils blend together as I craft each batch.

Freshly handcrafted and infused with powerful botanical allies to nourish the scalp, strengthen hair, and encourage vibrant growth.

This serum is slowly infused with mineral-rich herbs traditionally used to strengthen hair and support scalp health.

Herbal Infusion:
Horsetail: Rich in silica to strengthen hair strands and support growth
Nettle: Packed with minerals that nourish follicles and encourage fuller hair
Oat Straw: Soothing and restorative for the scalp
Chamomile: Calming and balancing for healthy scalp conditions
Alfalfa: Nutrient-dense and rich in vitamins that support strong hair

These herbs are slowly infused into a deeply nourishing base of:

Essential Oil Blend:
Rosemary Essential Oil: Encourages circulation and supports growth
Eucalyptus Essential Oil: Refreshing and clarifying for the scalp
Geranium Essential Oil: Helps balance natural oils and support healthy hair
Cypress Essential Oil: Traditionally used to stimulate circulation and strengthen follicles

How to Use:
Massage a small amount into the scalp and through the hair as a weekly oil treatment. Leave in for 20 minutes to a few hours, then wash out with your favorite shampoo.

Also wonderful for beards, helping to condition hair and nourish the skin beneath.

Today Iโ€™m celebrating International Womenโ€™s Day with someone very special, my beautiful niece, Sienna. ๐Ÿ’

She first interned with me at the apothecary when she was just 14, curious about herbs, wellness, and the magic of creating things with intention. Now sheโ€™s 16 and back in town, and my heart is so full getting to spend time with her again.

There is something incredibly meaningful about women supporting and uplifting the next generation of women. Watching Sienna grow into such a thoughtful, kind, and inspired young woman reminds me why mentorship matters so much.

She dreams of becoming a teacher, and I have no doubt she will touch many lives with her wisdom and compassion. I feel so honored to be someone in her life who can encourage her path, just as so many incredible women have done for me.

Today is about celebrating women everywhere; our strength, our softness, our creativity, and the beautiful ways we guide and support one another.

Hereโ€™s to the women who came before us, the women beside us, and the young women rising. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

Happy Lunar New Year! First new moon of the seasonal year. ๐ŸŒ€

Today marks the beginning of the new year according to the traditional lunar calendar, a calendar guided not by the sun, but by the cycles of the moon.

A lunar year follows the rhythm of approximately 12 full moons, and each one a sacred marker of reflection and intention. Occasionally, a 13th moon appears to keep the calendar in harmony with the seasons.

This is the year of the Fire Horse, a symbol of passion, movement, courage, and bold heart โค๏ธ led leadership. Fire Horse energy asks us to move forward bravely, trust our instincts, and lead from the heart with warmth and integrity.

May this new lunar cycle bring you deep alignment with your own inner rhythms.

We are now closed Tuesday (the holy day in Carmel-by-the-Sea)

Iโ€™m now taking three days off each week to spend more time at my new property; growing herbs, distilling essential oils, and expanding my farm-to-apothecary offerings.

These past days away were a true return to myself.
Healing waters, deep quiet in nature, slow mornings, banana pancakes on the stove, watercoloring herbs โ€” the simple things that restore the soul.

When I step away from the pace of running a business, I can feel the deeper heartbeat of my work as an herbalist. Sitting with plants. Reading. Painting them. Listening. Remembering why I do this in the first place.

The shop is open Monday and Tuesday, and Iโ€™ll be back behind the counter on Wednesday the 13th, feeling refreshed, inspired, and so ready to share all this renewed energy with you.
