Tuesday night, Oct 20. 🗓

Free live knee pain workshop on Zoom · 6:30 PM CT.

One honest hour on the options people usually hear about for a knee that keeps getting in the way: therapy and shots, knee replacement, and what's in between. I'll cover what each one can and can't do, and how to find out what might fit.

Regenerative options are paid out of pocket and not covered by insurance, and I'll say so plainly.

"Do I need surgery? Is that my only option?" 🤔

We hear those questions just about every day. What's interesting is that most people don't come in saying they just want the pain gone. They want to move like they used to, get in and out of the car, and get up off the sofa or out of a kitchen chair without having to grab onto something.

Those goals come up again and again, and they're exactly the kinds of questions Dr. Tim Uselton, DC likes to talk through.

A little honesty from Dr. Tim Uselton, DC about when the free Knee Pain Workshop may not be the best use of your evening:

• Brand-new injury, a lot of swelling, or you can't put weight on the leg — please see a medical provider promptly.
• Looking for a guarantee or a quick fix — Trinity doesn't offer those, and no one honestly can.
• You've already made a decision you feel good about with your own care team — stick with it.

If you're simply exploring options with an open mind, save a seat for Tuesday, Oct 20 at 6:30 PM CT.

A lot of the people who end up talking with me about a knee didn't go looking. Someone at home noticed first: the stairs taken one at a time, the walk that got skipped, the game watched from a chair.

Here's a way to raise it that isn't another conversation about it. Register for the two of you, watch the free workshop together, and let me do the explaining.

"Bone on bone" on one side of the knee. Patients tell us they hear that phrase a lot. 🦵

Dr. Tim Uselton, DC explains that when one side of the joint is narrowed and the other side is still open, a specially designed brace may help open up space on the narrow side so the knee can bend and function more comfortably.

Surgery isn't always the only answer. Depending on the person, options may include a little bracing, strengthening the muscles and stabilizing the ligaments. Before deciding "I've got to have surgery," it's worth knowing what the options are.

Regenerative options are paid out of pocket and not covered by insurance.

"The first round helped for months. The next one, a few weeks. The last one, a few days."

Patients tell me this as if they did something wrong. They didn't. The shots people are usually offered for a knee are generally meant to calm pain and inflammation for a while, not to change what's happening inside the joint. Relief getting shorter is a common pattern, and it deserves a real explanation.

In a free live knee pain workshop on Zoom, Tuesday, Oct 20 at 6:30 PM CT, I'll walk through why relief often fades, what the usual next options are (including knee replacement), and what else may be worth understanding first.

It isn't for everyone, and I can't promise anyone a result. Regenerative options are paid out of pocket and not covered by insurance.
