Something happened to the way time feels.
You wake up already running. Before the laptop opens, before the day has asked a single thing of you, your system is already on.
That is not a character flaw. That is a nervous system doing exactly what it was trained to do by a world that got louder and never turns off. And I know too many voices have convinced you this is a willpower problem. That if you just tried harder, you could switch it off. It is not your willpower. It never was.
Here is the part nobody says out loud. The noise is not an accident. Your attention is the product. The disruption, the urgency, the endless feed of things to be alarmed about. All of it is designed to keep you activated, because activated people keep scrolling.
Which means rest is not indulgence anymore. Rest is resistance.
Your nervous system was built for cycles. Activation and recovery. Push and rest. Choosing recovery on purpose, on your terms, is one of the most radical things a person who cares deeply about this world can do. You cannot pour from an empty nervous system. The people and causes you carry need you resourced, not running on fumes.
I work with people who hold the weight of other people's rights, safety, and futures in their work. I'm building something for them right now, and I want to build it right.
If that's you, send me a message. I'd genuinely love to hear what you're carrying and what you've tried.
