Last week, we had the privilege of joining the East Tennessee State University College of Health Sciences Radiologic Science Program for An Educational Symposium on Radiation Protection in Healthcare and what a turnout.
91 attendees gathered at John P. Lamb Hall, including:
- Radiologic Science students from ETSU & Northeast State Community College
- Faculty from ETSU, Northeast State, and the Quillen College of Medicine
- Ballad Health physicians and executive leadership
The event’s keynote was delivered by Dr. Kenneth Rosenfield (Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School), who spoke on the critical importance of occupational health and safety in the fluoroscopy suite, a message that hit home for every clinician, educator, and student in the room.
What made the event truly special was the sense of community, students learning side-by-side with Ballad Health representatives and peers from Northeast State’s radiography program, faculty from across institutions sharing knowledge, and an entire profession coming together around a single mission.
To celebrate the next generation entering the field, Salus Scientific was honored to gift GLiFT Systems and protective eyewear to graduating students from ETSU and Northeast State who are stepping into careers in the fluoroscopy suite.
Protecting the people who protect patients starts with education and we’re proud to invest in the students leading that future.
Thank you to ETSU, Dr. Rosenfield, and everyone who made this event possible.
