Warmer temperatures can increase the risk of foodborne illness and dehydration, both of which can affect the gastrointestinal system.

Helpful summer GI health tips:
โœ” Keep cold foods refrigerated
โœ” Cook meats thoroughly
โœ” Wash fruits and vegetables well
โœ” Stay hydrated throughout the day
โœ” Be cautious with food left out in the heat
โœ” Limit excess alcohol and sugary drinks

Common symptoms of foodborne illness may include:

โ€ข Diarrhea
โ€ข Stomach cramps
โ€ข Fever
โ€ข Dehydration
