Reviewing Augmental's MouthPad^ Wearable Controller
John Mohler has been talking to his computer since the '90s. As a power wheelchair user with MS, a mouth stick and speech recognition were his preferred tools, which meant every work email, every private message was said out loud to whoever was in the room. Then he tried Augmental’s Mouthpad^, a touchpad you wear like a retainer that works with your tongue. Click the link for his review.

Through a combination of frugality and needs, I long ago landed on a combination of speech recognition and a mouthstick to do my writing and editorial work. I am a C4 quadriplegic with multiple…

Member Spotlight: Kate Weaver 🧡
"Life is what you make of it. Even though I'm now seated, I'm still trying to get out and do everything I want to do. It may be hard, but it's possible."
After surviving a devastating car accident that resulted in a T10 spinal cord injury and unimaginable personal loss, Kate Weaver’s journey defined extraordinary resilience. From returning to adaptive driving and rebuilding strength through yoga and Pilates to pursuing her dream of becoming a licensed Registered Nurse, Kate refuses to let an injury determine her future.
Her story is a powerful reminder of the strength, hope, and perseverance within our community.

Two Accessible Ways to Make Getting In and Out of the Water Easier
Getting into the water from a dock is the easy part. Getting back out has never had a good answer. Enter the SwimStep, a modular staircase with steps that start below the waterline, turning the dock exit into a series of small transfers. Plus: an Aquatic Access pool lift with no battery, no motor and no electronics. It runs on a garden hose

Getting into a lake or pond off a dock as a wheelchair user can be as simple as locking your brakes and leaning forward, but getting back onto the dock … well, that’s not quite as easy.
