Why not you?
One of the coolest things about self study (svadhayaya) is that it helps us to tear away the narrative we tell ourselves.

When did we stop believing that we could be anything we wanted to be?
… and why?

We tell stories to ourselves all the time: “this is who I am”, “this is what these people feel or say about me”, “I can’t…”, “I’ll never be able to…”, “that was so dumb, why’d I do that?”. The list goes on.

But what happens when we pull away from the narrative we create and allow ourselves to just be? Maybe we find a kinder voice, more compassion for ourselves and others; maybe we realize we’re assuming instead of asking; maybe we pull ourselves out of the box that we’re trying to fit into as we realize that we aren’t made to fit into something so neat and tidy- that’s not what humanity is- and we can’t expect to be able to do that to anyone else either.

So does that change your outlook? On what you can do, who you can be, who you are?
Maybe it should. ❤️

A little about Svadhyaya: self study.

Study the patterns of your reactions & emotions.
Can you choose to step back, take a breath, and give yourself space?
Instead of a knee-jerk reaction, we get to PICK our own adventure. Doesn’t matter if it ends up being the same choice as we would normally fall into unconsciously.
What matters is that we stop and MAKE the decision.
We move intentionally.
We live with eyes wide open.
