This morning during prayer, God brought me back to something my business partner said to me yesterday. She told me, “I hope to become as great as you are when it comes to fitting patients.”
Truthfully, I heard her… but we were so busy that I didn’t fully stop to acknowledge those words.
Yesterday was one of those challenging clinic days. We had difficult cases, including a radiation chest wall with breast implants. Our goal is always to help patients feel even, balanced, comfortable, and whole again…but sometimes that process is far from easy. Still, I keep trying. Somehow, by God’s grace, things come together.
But what my partner may not fully realize yet is how highly I think of her too.
While I was explaining to a patient, “Right now we cannot focus on a breast prosthesis. Right now we have to focus on reducing this severe lymphedema first,” Dayna was already taking action behind the scenes. Before the appointment was even over, she was making calls, sending emails, advocating for therapy approval, and working to obtain a pneumatic compression pump for the patient.
That’s who she is.
Sometimes I’ll say, “Dayna, can you get Dr. So-and-So to sign a CMN for a custom prosthesis?” and she’ll respond, “I already typed it up… I’m just waiting on the signature.”
That level of compassion, urgency, and initiative cannot be taught easily. She listens. She cares. She moves with purpose. God truly answered my prayers by bringing the right people into this journey with me.
As we continue to grow and train new employees, please pray for us. Compassion and empathy are not qualities that everyone naturally possesses. This work requires special people with a genuine heart for others.
I’m praying for one or two more people with that “it” factor. The kind of people who understand that this work is bigger than products and paperwork, it’s about helping people feel seen, restored, and cared for during some of the hardest moments of their lives. 💗
