Rain and all… we still made kindness happen. ☔️💌

Yesterday at the Bookclub Social Market, visitors wrote notes that will brighten someone else’s day, learned about Coastal NICU Care Boxes, and helped support NICU families in our community.

We also introduced something new: The Kindness Mailbox! 💌

Along with writing encouraging notes for NICU parents, visitors now have the opportunity to write a kind note to anyone in their life. Whether it’s a friend, grandparent, coworker, neighbor, teacher, or someone who’s simply having a hard time, we’ll provide the card, envelope, stamp, and mail it for you. It’s a simple way to spread a little extra kindness, and you’ll be seeing The Kindness Mailbox at future events!

Community is such a beautiful thing. 🤍

Yesterday I dropped off our NICU note-writing station at Explore Play Cafe , and what was supposed to be a quick drop-off (since my son stayed home to sleep) turned into one of those unexpectedly lovely conversations that reminds you there are really good people out there!!

Explore Play Cafe is a locally owned (by two OT’s!) play space designed for families to gather, play, and build community:: and after spending time there, I can honestly say the warmth of the space matches the people behind it.

I’ve mentioned before how much I love finding spaces my son can be comfortable to practice the skills he learns in his therapies (like OT), and this place is definitely going to be a go-to spot for us 💙

If you stop by, play, have a drink, & take a moment to write a note to a NICU mom or dad. A few kind words may seem small, but they can mean everything to someone in survival mode. 🌊✨

I’m Jenny.
NICU mom x2.
Postpartum survivor.
Full-time QA director.
Full-time grad student (again) 🤭
Sleep deprived founder running on sweet tea, grief, love, and pure stubbornness.

And this is Coastal NICU Care Boxes.

What started as me trying to survive one of the hardest chapters of my life somehow turned into this: care boxes, community partnerships, donation drives, hospital deliveries, handwritten notes from strangers, and moms realizing they are not as alone as they thought they were.

This whole thing was built during postpartum, anxiety, late-night Amazon orders, toddler chaos, and the kind of love that changes you forever.

This isn’t a big nonprofit with a warehouse, staff, or fancy funding.
It’s me.

A mom in Corpus Christi packing boxes during nap time, answering DMs at midnight, doing homework assignments after bedtime, crying in Hobby Lobby parking lots, squeezing in deliveries between meetings, and refusing to let NICU parents feel forgotten.

Because I remember exactly what it feels like to be in survival mode and desperate to know someone understands how you feel.

Every single box says:
“Someone sees you. Someone gets it. Keep going.” 🤍

Every donation, share, partnership, note, and kind message helps keep this going.
And every single box is sent with the hope that a mom (or dad) opens it and feels even 1% less alone.

We’re so excited to be partnering with The Moms in Motion Project for the first walk + splash pad playdate of the summer! 🤍

Join us Sunday, June 7th at Cole Park Pier for a casual stroller walk, community connection, and splash pad fun for the littles.

As a local NICU mom-founded initiative, Coastal NICU Care Boxes is all about creating support and community for parents navigating hard seasons, and we’re so grateful to be part of events that bring moms and families together outside the hospital walls too. 🌊

30 Coastal NICU Care Boxes delivered today 🤍

Thirty small reminders to mamas sitting beside isolettes that they are not alone.

Every box represents a mom navigating fear, exhaustion, uncertainty, and love all at the same time, and because of your donations, support, shares, and encouragement, we’re able to keep showing up for them.

Thank you to everyone who has donated items, money, notes, or simply shared our posts. This community is what keeps Coastal NICU Care Boxes going.

We’re still here. More deliveries are coming. Donations are always needed to help us continue supporting local NICU families. This set cleared us out and I couldn’t be happier about it! 🌊🤍

Some days it still feels surreal that strangers, local businesses, and other NICU families are helping us pour love into these boxes. 🤍

From journals and encouragement cards, to self-care items, snacks, candles, comfort gifts, and little reminders that NICU moms are not alone… every single donation matters more than you know.

These aren’t just “things.”
They’re moments of comfort during some of the hardest days a parent can experience.

Father’s Day is coming up, and we’ve got the NICU dads in mind too. 🤍

One small note can mean more than you know to a parent walking through one of the hardest seasons of their life. We’re so excited to begin including notes and support specifically for NICU dads in our care boxes this Father’s Day season.
