It's Fix It Friday with our Gallatin Clinic Director, Tim Hall, PT, DPT! 🛠️🏃

Tim breaks down a common running form issue where the knees and thighs move too close together. This can change how force is distributed through the lower body, increasing stress on the hips, knees, and ankles and contributing to pain over time. He then demonstrates a few exercises to improve running mechanics and build better control through the hips and legs. 💪👟

Our Bolivar team recently held a bake sale, selling homemade sourdough bread to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Cheryl, our incredible PCC in Bolivar, shared a story that perfectly captures why these efforts matter. 🍞

One of our Bolivar patients recently came to STAR for an evaluation after being referred by TriStar Centennial Medical Center. Although her insurance benefits had been exhausted, her physical therapy visits are covered through a grant from the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center, made possible by support from the American Cancer Society.

While she was there, she asked about the sourdough bread and ended up purchasing three loaves.

As Cheryl put it, "Nothing is done in vain, and today was worth it all."

We couldn't agree more! Every dollar raised through our fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society helps fund lifesaving research, advocacy, and support for patients and their families! Sometimes, we even get to see that impact firsthand!

STAR Physical Therapy is proud to recognize Alexa McLemore, PT, DPT, Clinic Director of our Covington clinic, as she celebrates three years with STAR! 🤩

A Tipton County native, Alexa has spent the past three years serving patients throughout Tipton County and surrounding communities, committed to providing exceptional, patient-centered care.

For the past year, Alexa has served as Clinic Director at our Covington clinic, where her leadership has been instrumental in the clinic's continued growth and, most importantly, in the many success stories shared by the patients we have the privilege of serving.

Alexa has also continued to invest in her clinical education, completing additional training in Dry Needling and expanding the treatment options available to her patients. This advanced training allows her to incorporate Dry Needling into individualized treatment plans when appropriate, providing another tool to help patients reduce pain, improve mobility and work toward their functional goals.

Alexa’s impact also extends beyond Tipton County, as she spends time treating patients at our Ripley clinic, helping STAR continue to provide quality physical therapy care throughout Lauderdale County.

Whether she is treating patients, supporting her team, or serving her community, Alexa is an incredible example of what STAR stands for. Her dedication, leadership, and genuine investment in the people around her reflect our mission and core values every day.
