We are excited to offer a rental special in our furnished space in Dayton for new LMTs (licensed under 12 months). We love being a landing place for new therapists to develop business skills and want to continue supporting new generations of self-sustaining LMTs. Our special is a 3-month rent commitment for a flate rate of $300/month that includes:

~ Access to one full day/week in one of our clean and completely furnished massage rooms (we have electric tables)
~ A complimentary 90 minute massage from Kate Thomas, the owner of Collective Good
~ A complimentary 1 hour mentorship session with Kate
~ A set of linens to keep
~ Free copy of “Growing a Massage Practice with Heart” e-book by Kate

Other benefits include being promoted on our website and social media, possible referrals from other practitioners in our space, electric massage tables, wifi, and more!

This opportunity is valued at $1,300 for the price of $300/month for 3 months.

How we work:

Practitioners bring their clients. We provide the space, infrastructure, and community. LMTs keep 100% of what they earn without worrying about signing a multi-year commercial lease, buying a massage/bodywork table, furnishing a treatment room and waiting area, paying for utilities, maintaining a facility, and working completely alone. What they do get is full control of their business, flexible monthly rental opportunities, website presence, mentorship, referral opportunities, and 100% of their service revenue.

One of our counseling rooms has new availability for therapists, counselors, coaches, nutritionists, or any provider who offers similar services. The room features a comfy couch, an armchair, a desk, and white noise machines for privacy.

I love helping others find their footing. I am beyond grateful for my own mentor who over the years has been a lifeline for my own business journey, so I know firsthand the value of having someone other than family and friends to talk shop with — someone who gets it and has been there.

I’m creating space for more mentorship opportunities this year and I would love to hear from any LMTs in need of some support and guidance. My favorite thing to work with someone on are soft skills — that internal compass that points us to our boundaries, communication, adaptability, decision-making, self-awareness. But I know a heck of a lot about technical skills, physical studios, and tech stuff, too.

One of our pillars here at Collective Good is a commitment to authenticity. Be real. Be yourself! Authenticity in ourselves promotes a safe space for others to come as they are. Our space and operating principles are purposefully designed to support practitioners in both their independence and authenticity.

I think in many instances practitioners who want to independently own their practice envision within this dream embodying authenticity — being able to connect with and serve clients in ways that feel good and true to themselves and their core beliefs, while really enjoying their work and the people they help. This is the type of practitioner who is drawn to Collective Good. It’s a common thing to see a therapist walking their client out the door and standing with them for a moment on a sunny day, or clients in the waiting room telling one another how much they appreciate their provider. It’s a testament to shared values here: We love what we do, who we do it for, and doing it authentically — whatever “it” is.

I have noticed there is sometimes fear in taking that leap toward independence from being a W2 employee or 1099 IC. Fear means we care a lot about how things turn out — we want to do well and “make it”. Collective Good provides a stepping stone so you don’t have to necessarily leap. A few months ago I wrote an e-guide for massage therapists… and never got around to sharing it! This guide was created for LMTs who seek practical advice on building clientele and who are interested in essential concepts to understand in oneself and in the craft as their practice grows. Included are reflective inquiries and space to reflect to support LMTs on their growth journey. Note that I’m NOT a technical writer, so the guide leans into the creative element of our work and business.
