The Glowing Girl

Maryliz Concepción Millán was born on July 21, 1989 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. When she was 1 year old, she was diagnose with Muscular Dystrophy. Her first 5 years, she lived with her mother and oldest sister in the Bronx, NY. Then came back to Puerto Rico so her grandparents could take care of her and her sister while her mother worked. Even with her limitations, she went to school and had a life as normal as possible and always enjoyed everything fashion and makeup related. When she grew up and was time to choose a career, she decided that she wanted to study Communications. During her college years, she felt in love with Advertising thanks to her professors Modesto Aguayo, Iliana Ballester and Joel Reyes from University Of The Sacred Heart (USC) in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated from her bachelor’s degree in May, 2013. One year later, after not finding a job in her field and feeling discriminated because of her condition, Maryliz moved to the State of Florida to a small town called Deltona. She began doing makeup live streams on Facebook and growing her follower base. People loved her charisma and simple makeup looks. A lot of woman were inspired by Maryliz in Social Media and she decided that it was time to turn her makeup hobby into a business.

She started doing research on private label cosmetics, beauty industry, the process of how to bring her idea to life and creating the branding for her dreamed makeup line on November, 2016. She named the brand Glowing Girl Cosmetics because most of her followers always told her that, with her live streams, she always brightens their day. On December, she finally had everything ready and products on the way. On January 24, 2017 GGC had a satisfactory launch.
