“I don’t even eat that much… so why can’t I lose weight?”
I hear this ALL. THE. TIME.
And sometimes… you’re right. You’re not eating that much food volume.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re eating fewer calories.
☕ Skip breakfast → grab a Venti white chocolate mocha
🥗 Lunch → a small salad out with coworkers
🍔 Dinner → absolutely starving, so you grab a burger + fries on the way home
It can FEEL like you barely ate all day.
But those few choices can pack a lot of calories into a very small amount of food, while giving you very little protein, fiber, or actual fullness.
So by 6 PM, your body is screaming for food.
This is why I don’t just tell women to “eat less.”
Sometimes we need to eat MORE actual food.
More protein.
More fiber.
More fruits and vegetables.
More balanced meals.
More foods that give you VOLUME without blowing through your calories.
Fat loss isn’t about seeing how little food you can survive on.
It’s about learning how to fuel your body in a way that keeps you full, supports your muscle, and still allows you to maintain a calorie deficit.
So if you keep saying…
“I don’t eat that much, but I still can’t lose weight…”
It might be time to look at WHAT you’re eating, not just how much it looks like on your plate.
