New podcast episode: NEN Treatments: Focus on Cabozantinib

In Episode 54 of the Neuroendocrine Cancer Foundation Podcast, host Lisa Yen speaks with Dr. Namrata “Neena” Vijayvergia, a medical oncologist and clinical trialist, about cabozantinib and what patients and caregivers may want to know.

Since its FDA approval on March 26, 2025, cabozantinib has emerged as the newest treatment option for neuroendocrine tumor (NET) patients—adding another valuable tool to the treatment toolbox. It’s become a hot topic in support groups and forums, with many patients wondering what to expect. In this episode, Fox Chase Cancer Center medical oncologist Dr. Namrata (“Neena”) Vijayvergia answers the most frequently asked questions about cabozantinib. She explains how it works, how it differs from other therapies, what patients should know about dosing and side effects, and shares insights on a new clinical trial exploring the next generation of cabozantinib.

We are honoring the life and legacy of Tom Bajoras — beloved husband of Lisa Yen, NCF’s Director of Programs & Outreach, and a cherished member of the neuroendocrine cancer community.

Tom lived with neuroendocrine cancer for more than eleven years and shared his music, creativity, kindness, and service with so many. From performing original piano pieces at the 2023 NET Cancer Day Symposium to composing and editing music for the NCF podcast, Tom’s contributions touched our community in ways both seen and unseen.

In 2023, Tom received the Giovanna Joyce Imbesi Above & Beyond Award, recognizing his dedication to the NET community and the meaningful connection he created through music.

We are grateful for the beauty Tom shared, the journey he offered, and the love he brought into this community.
