Curious about Rolfing and whether it could help you move more easily? I wrote a clear guide that explains what Rolfing® Structural Integration actually does—how it works with fascia, why we focus on whole-body organization (not just the sore spot), and what to expect in a session or during the Ten Series.

After 20+ years as an Advanced Rolfer, I still see the same pattern: restrictions in connective tissue change how you use muscles and joints, and that change shows up as pain, fatigue, or poor posture. Rolfing aims to restore glide, hydration, and coordination so gravity helps you instead of wearing you down. If you want practical tips, honest limits of the work, and simple integration strategies (yes—walk after a session), this guide walks through it all.

Read the full article and learn whether Rolfing might fit your goals for posture, pain management, or improved movement. I hope it helps you decide—or at least answers some good questions. What part of your movement do you wish felt easier? Share below! 👇

New on the blog: How Rolfing Can Improve Your Posture and Mobility - a clear, evidence-led look at why structural alignment matters for everyday movement. 🧭✨

If you’re in Denver and want less strain and easier movement, this post walks through how Rolfing (Structural Integration) works: posture assessment, targeted fascia work, movement education, and what to expect from sessions (about 60 minutes; many people do a series of 10 for best results). It’s not just massage-it's about changing the patterns that keep you stuck.

I’m John A. Wilson. I’ve been doing myofascial work for 20+ years, completed advanced training at the Rolf Institute, and bring a mindfulness-informed approach to help clients move with more ease. Curious whether Rolfing could help your chronic tightness or desk-posture habits? Read the full post and get practical next steps - https://wix.to/Hm8kBvw

I used to treat stiff necks by only working the sore spots in the back — and yes, sometimes that helps — but over 20 years of bodywork has shown me another common culprit: the front of the neck. When the throat, esophagus, and surrounding fascia don’t glide well, the bigger postural muscles in the back end up bracing all day. The result? Recurring tightness at the base of the skull, shoulder tension, and that tired ‘chin poking forward’ feeling.

In my Advanced Rolfing and Structural Integration work I focus on restoring glide and differentiation between the visceral (throat) tissues and the structural neck. That subtle change often lets the head settle back naturally, eases chronic strain, and makes turning, breathing, and everyday movement feel easier — without forcing posture.

If you’re someone who stays active, cares about posture, and wants lasting relief instead of temporary fixes, this approach may be worth exploring. Want to learn more or talk about whether it fits your neck story? Ask me below or click to read the full post. 🧭✨

A painful stiff neck is often treated where it hurts, but the source may include the front of the neck. The throat, esophagus, glands, nerves, blood vessels, and surrounding fascia form a living tube that must glide in relation to the stronger muscles that hold the head up.

Have you ever noticed how being truly relaxed or alone can feel like the ‘real you’ shows up? I wrote a short piece exploring Gurdjieff’s idea of Essence vs. Personality and what that means for posture and movement — especially for those of us doing Myofascial work and Structural Integration.

In practice, the essential self is like a seed: it wants to grow, but habits, compensation patterns, and life’s demands build a shell around it. As an Advanced Rolfer with 20+ years of bodywork experience, I use firm, mindful myofascial work and movement to help those long-held patterns soften so natural posture and ease of movement can emerge. Think: less strain, clearer movement, and a body that supports your day-to-day activities and fitness goals.

If you’re curious about how posture, self-observation, and slow movement can change the way you move and feel, take a few minutes to read the full article. Link below — and if you’re in Denver, I work locally and love helping people stay active and pain-free. What posture habit would you most like to change? Let’s talk. 🌳✨

Discover how Rolfing (myofascial work) uses gravity to realign the body and let its own intelligence organize movement and posture. Read the new post by John Wilson to learn how exposing the body to gravity can reduce strain and improve overall alignment. https://wix.to/O2GAHTe

Rolfing is frequently referred to as Myofascial work, involving muscles and connective tissues, to align the body with gravity. This practice aims not only to alleviate strain but also to expose the body to a greater organizing force, which the body's own intelligence can engage with and structure a...
