I have ideas. But I’m much more interested in what you’d actually leave the house for.

The immersive sound experiences aren’t going anywhere. Those are part of what we do here.

But what else belongs in this room?

Which one gets you here?

UNPLUGGED — intimate live music. Close, stripped down, different from seeing a show in a traditional venue.

RESTORE — restorative Qigong. Gentle movement, deep breathwork, meditation and sound designed to regulate the nervous system and reconnect you to your body.

AFTERDARK — music, movement and a completely different kind of evening at The Portal.

SALON — interesting people, interesting ideas and the kind of conversation that rarely happens by accident.

Don’t overthink it.

Drop UNPLUGGED, RESTORE, AFTERDARK or SALON in the comments.

Pick two if you can’t choose.

And if none of them get you here? Tell me what would.

I’m listening. ↓

These landed in my hands today.

But this work began long before I knew it would become a workbook.

Over the past year and a half, I’ve watched what pressure does to smart, capable people. It doesn’t erase their intelligence, but it can cut them off from it.

From their judgment.
Their voice.
Their ability to choose instead of react.

And I realized strategy alone wasn’t enough. Mindset alone wasn’t enough. Regulation alone wasn’t enough.

The deeper work is learning how to remain fully available, to your intelligence, your body and your power, when the stakes rise.

Presence isn’t the absence of pressure.
It’s the capacity to stop letting pressure command you.

This workbook brings together decades of leadership, strategy and project work with everything I’ve learned about the nervous system, breath, sound and the body.

Holding it for the first time feels significant.

Not because the work is finished.

Because it has finally become fully, unmistakably mine.

So stop trying.

Some things aren’t asking to be solved, analyzed, optimized or figured out.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is give yourself an experience big enough to interrupt the noise.

That’s part of why I keep coming back to the gong.

You don’t have to know how to meditate.
You don’t have to arrive relaxed.
You don’t have to understand sound work.

You can bring the busy brain. The unfinished list. The decisions. The whole damn week.

Come in. Lie down. Let the sound take over for a while.

This Sunday, Victoria Celia joins me at The Portal for our monthly Gong & Gather—bringing additional instruments into the room for an expanded sound experience.

Power needs somewhere it doesn’t have to perform.

Somewhere the person at the head of the table can stop being the answer for a minute.

Where certainty isn’t required.
Where instinct is allowed back into the conversation.
Where the weight of being the one everyone looks to can finally be acknowledged.

Today I worked on an experiment in what happens when power has somewhere private to tell the truth.

I moved through conversations at The Portal, and ironed tablecloths for tomorrow morning’s board meeting.

Because that kind of room doesn’t happen accidentally.

I’m not building a consultancy.

I’m building somewhere power can exhale.

And yes, the tablecloths are part of it.

There’s a reason I keep coming back to the gong.

It can be beautiful, yes.
But beautiful isn’t really the point.

The sound is enormous. Complex. Physical.

It moves through the room in layers you can’t capture through a speaker, and creates an experience that is almost impossible to explain to someone who hasn’t been in it.

I’ve watched people walk into this room carrying a lot.

Decisions. Responsibility. Noise. Grief. Pressure.
A brain that simply will not stop doing its job.

And for a little while, I don’t ask them to process any of it.

I don’t ask them to figure anything out.

We make enough sound that something else gets to happen.

That’s why this work has remained such an important part of what I do—even as the rest of my work continues to evolve.

I don’t advertise it much.

Those who know tend to come back.
Those who are curious eventually find their way here.

This Sunday, Victoria Celia joins me for Gong & Gather at The Portal, bringing additional instruments and another dimension to the room.

If you’ve been wondering what happens in here, come find out.
