One of the many ways to prepare for the CNS exam is writing your own questions.

Why? Because creating a question forces you to think like the exam writer, connect concepts, and identify gaps in your understanding.

Better yet? Do it with a study group.

You'll quickly realize everyone thinks a little differently…and that's exactly what makes it so valuable.

Caitlin shares practical tips for creating your own CNS practice exams, making the most of your study group, and turning practice questions into one of your most effective study tools.

If you're studying for the CNS exam, this is one strategy worth adding to your toolkit.

Every CNS candidate studies a little differently.

Some want structure. Some want accountability. Some want to know they're focusing on the right material.

One thing we hear over and over is that having a clear study plan makes preparing for the exam feel much less overwhelming.

Here are a few more thoughts from students who recently completed our CNS Test Prep Course.

I hope they encourage you wherever you are in your own study journey.

πŸŽ‰ We have something to celebrate!

Our most recent cohort of TNHC interns completing our CNS Prep Course achieved a 93.1% pass rate on the CNS exam.

What makes me happiest isn't the number itself. It's knowing how much work went into earning it.

The early mornings.
The late-night study sessions.
The practice questions.
The self-doubt.
The persistence.

Passing the CNS exam isn't about luck. It's the result of months (and often years) of dedication to becoming a thoughtful, evidence-informed clinician.

To every intern who sat for the exam this round - congratulations. We're incredibly proud of you and honored to have been a small part of your journey.

Preparing for the CNS exam can feel overwhelming.

There's so much information.
So many resources.

And often, one big question:
"Am I studying the right things?"

One of my favorite parts of teaching is watching that uncertainty slowly turn into confidence.

Not because students memorize everything...But because they begin to understand the material, think more like clinicians, and trust what they know.

I thought I'd let a few of our recent CNS Prep Course grads do the talking. πŸ’›

If you're preparing for the exam, I hope these stories remind you that you're capable…and that you don't have to figure it all out alone.

No two people study the same way.

Some people love outlines.
Some make mind maps.
Some teach the material out loud.

And some...swear by flashcards. πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ

The key isn't finding the perfect study method. It's finding the combination of tools that helps you understand and remember the material.

If flashcards help you connect concepts, quiz yourself on the go, or squeeze in a little studying between new clients or webinars, we've put together a free set to add to your study toolkit.

Think of them as another resource - not another thing you have to do.

Some of the best things I learned about herbal medicine came from clinical pearls.
The little insights that make you stop and think..."Oh... that's how I'll remember it."

That's exactly what we'll be sharing in this free masterclass.

🌿 The herbs most worth your study time.
🌿 The clinical concepts that commonly appear on the CNS exam.
🌿 A practical framework to help organize your studying so you're not trying to memorize an entire apothecary.

If you've been meaning to brush up on herbal medicine before the exam, this is a great place to start.

One of the biggest "aha" moments for nutrition students is realizing that nutrients rarely work alone.

Think of them like a team. You can give someone more of one nutrient, but if its supporting cofactors are missing, you may not get the result you're expecting.

That's why functional nutrition is about understanding how nutrients work together, not simply identifying deficiencies.

Dr. Keren Dolan dives into this concept in her latest blog, using real clinical examples from methylation and energy metabolism to show why cofactors matter.
