Hi Everyone! Christi here! I wanted to make a post regarding the delay on the Minnesota side with regards to credentialing/contract requests, etc.
I have had a lot of emails today requesting an update or asking if their approval has come in from MHCP (MN Medicaid).
I want to give some statistics and a helpful link that will have more helpful information!
As we all know, the state of Minnesota is going through a revalidation project due to the extensive fraud found within the Medicaid program. There are 13 high-risk categories that had to endure the revalidation process. The unfortunate piece here is that all the other categories are suffering due to an "all hands on deck" approach for the revalidation project. All of the other typical applications for non-risk categories are being put on the backburner and being worked very, very slowly. I actually did receive an approval today. That application was submitted by me in March, meaning the turnaround time is around 7 months.
The deadline for the revalidation project was May 31. On that date, only 37% of the revalidations had been completed. As you can imagine, anyone who had their enrollment terminated are now going through the appeal process. MHCP continues to work through revalidations and appeals, leaving our applications as last priority.
If you are a credentialing client of Inspired and pending an MNMA application, I promise you will hear from me when I have an update. I think I teared up today when I got this new one in the mail. :) I will be screaming that information from the rooftops when they come in!
I will always reach out regarding this unfortunate delay that is sure to have a domino effect that will last years. Because payers like HealthPartners and BCBSMN require MHCP approval before contracts can be requested, this will effect ALL of that as well.
