If you have had a csection, this is not about guilt โ it's about understanding what your baby may need after.
Here's what happens during a vaginal birth that most people don't know:
As a baby moves through the birth canal, the gentle compression and rotation actually activates their nervous system. It stimulates the vagus nerve, jumpstarts respiratory function, and helps regulate the stress hormones released during labor. The birth canal essentially gives the nervous system its first "calibration."
In a C-section, that process is bypassed. The baby goes from the womb to the outside world without that neurological activation sequence. Additionally, the pulling and traction used during surgical delivery can create tension in the upper cervical spine โ the most critical area for nervous system communication.
This doesn't mean something is wrong with your baby. But it can contribute to:
โ Difficulty latching or nursing
โ Colic, reflux, and digestive issues
โ Sleep disruption
โ Sensory sensitivity
โ Delayed developmental milestones
Gentle pediatric chiropractic care helps release that upper cervical tension and support proper nervous system function from the very beginning.
If your baby was born via C-section, a nervous system check is one of the most proactive things you can do. ๐ค
