Your Thyroid is NOT the Problem

Hashimotos Vs Graves?!?!

09/10/2026

Hashimotos is NOT a thyroid disease!!

09/09/2026

Are you dealing with Hashimoto’s, Graves’ disease, or autoimmune thyroiditis? Your thyroid symptoms may be more complicated than you’ve been told.

Hashimoto’s and Graves’ are both autoimmune thyroid conditions, meaning the immune system is attacking the thyroid and creating inflammation.

But here’s what many people don’t realize: Hashimoto’s doesn’t always mean hypothyroidism, and Graves’ doesn’t always mean hyperthyroidism.

It’s not always that simple.

To truly understand what’s happening, you have to look at the body system by system and uncover what may be contributing to the autoimmune process.

Simply managing thyroid hormone levels may not address the underlying factors contributing to your symptoms.

You CAN feel better and get your life back. ❤️

Send me a DM and let’s get you connected with my team. We’ll help you figure out what the next step is.

Taking levothyroxine, Synthroid, Armour Thyroid, NP Thyroid, or another thyroid medication, but still dealing with fatigue, weight gain, hair loss, brain fog, anxiety, or low energy?

You’re not imagining it.

Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid gland. Thyroid medication can replace or supplement thyroid hormones, but hormone replacement alone may not address every factor involved in ongoing autoimmune activity.

That may help explain why some people with Hashimoto’s or hypothyroidism continue experiencing symptoms even when their TSH, T4, or other thyroid blood tests are reported as normal.

Other factors that may be worth exploring include:

• gut health and digestive dysfunction
• chronic inflammation
• gut microbiome imbalance
• nutrient deficiencies
• blood sugar dysregulation
• chronic stress and stress response
• infections
• environmental factors

The goal isn't to focus only on improving thyroid lab results.

It's to understand the bigger picture behind persistent Hashimoto’s symptoms, hypothyroidism, fatigue, brain fog, weight changes, hair loss, and low energy.

Because better numbers on a lab report don't always mean you feel like yourself again.

The goal isn't just better labs. It's feeling better.

A racing heart. Shaky hands. Dizziness. Brain fog. A sudden wave of panic.

Everyone assumes it’s anxiety.

But sometimes, blood sugar may be part of the picture.

When blood glucose drops, your body can release stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to help raise blood sugar. That response can produce symptoms that may feel similar to anxiety, panic attacks, nervousness, or feeling suddenly on edge.

Blood sugar instability and glucose swings may also be associated with symptoms like:

• heart palpitations
• shakiness or trembling
• dizziness
• irritability
• fatigue and energy crashes
• brain fog
• mood changes
• waking during the night
• trouble concentrating

This doesn't mean every case of anxiety or every panic attack is caused by low blood sugar. But if these symptoms repeatedly appear alongside hunger, skipped meals, energy crashes, or changes after eating, your blood sugar patterns and overall metabolic health may be worth discussing with a qualified healthcare professional.

The goal isn't to assume every symptom has one cause.

It's to ask whether something else could be contributing.

Have you ever noticed anxiety or panic-like symptoms when you haven't eaten or when your energy suddenly crashes?

You’re drinking more water. Adding salt. Wearing compression socks.

But you still have POTS symptoms.

The dizziness is still there. Your heart still races. You’re exhausted, lightheaded, dealing with brain fog, palpitations, and struggling with exercise.

So the question is: what else could be contributing?

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and dysautonomia involve dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system and can affect heart rate, blood flow, blood pressure regulation, circulation, and the body’s response to standing.

But the diagnosis may not explain every factor influencing your symptoms.

Factors worth investigating can include:

• blood sugar instability
• hydration and electrolyte balance
• nutritional deficiencies
• chronic inflammation
• gut and digestive issues
• nervous system dysregulation
• other conditions that can overlap with or worsen POTS symptoms

This is why some people continue experiencing dizziness, tachycardia, rapid heart rate, fatigue, brain fog, weakness, palpitations, and exercise intolerance despite following standard POTS recommendations.

Managing symptoms matters, but understanding the full picture matters too.

If you feel like you’re doing everything for your POTS and still not improving, it may be time to ask whether something else is contributing to the cycle.

Dealing with hair loss, excessive hair shedding, thinning hair, fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, or low energy?

Before blaming your shampoo, hormones, or genetics, it may be worth looking at your ferritin level.

Ferritin measures your body's stored iron, and low ferritin can occur alongside iron deficiency and symptoms such as hair shedding, fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, and difficulty concentrating.

The tricky part? Your blood work may be labeled "normal," while you are still experiencing symptoms and trying to understand why.

But low ferritin is not always the whole explanation.

The next question is: Why are your iron stores low in the first place?

Possible contributing factors can include:

• poor iron absorption
• gut and digestive issues
• chronic inflammation
• nutrient deficiencies
• heavy menstrual bleeding
• ongoing blood loss
• certain medications or medical conditions

Taking an iron supplement may help in some cases, but identifying the reason behind low ferritin and iron deficiency is an important part of understanding the bigger picture.

If your hair keeps shedding and your ferritin keeps coming back low, it may be time to look beyond the number alone.

What's your ferritin level?

Drop it below 👇

If you want solutions, if you want answers, send me a DM right now.

I'll get you my Ferritin Workshop, where we break it all down, help you understand what's driving it, and show you what to do next to help get your life back.

Feeling anxious, shaky, panicked, or overwhelmed for no obvious reason?

It may not always be “just anxiety.”

Anxiety symptoms and panic-like symptoms can sometimes be influenced by what is happening elsewhere in the body, including blood sugar instability, cortisol changes, nutrient deficiencies, and nervous system stress.

One commonly overlooked factor is a blood sugar crash.

When blood glucose drops, the body releases stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to help raise it. That response can sometimes feel similar to anxiety or a panic attack.

Symptoms may include:

• heart palpitations
• rapid heartbeat
• shakiness or trembling
• sweating
• racing thoughts
• irritability
• dizziness
• sudden feelings of panic
• waking up in the middle of the night or around 3 AM feeling anxious

Other factors, including low magnesium, B vitamin deficiencies, gut health issues, chronic stress, and other medical conditions, may also contribute to symptoms that affect mood and nervous system function.

The symptoms are real.

But instead of only asking how to calm the anxiety, it may be worth asking what is contributing to your body's stress response.

Your labs say “normal.”

But you’re still exhausted, foggy, and not feeling like yourself.

A reference range is designed to describe what’s typical across a population. It doesn’t automatically explain why you feel the way you do.

Persistent fatigue can have many possible contributors, including sleep problems, nutrient deficiencies, thyroid issues, blood sugar changes, stress, and other health factors.

Ever been told “everything looks fine” when you knew something wasn’t? 👇
