It's not just about kids. Seniors are doing quiet math with a grocery list, skipping meals so the prescription gets filled.

Our senior programs bring food, nutrition education, and a table full of people to sit with.

That last part isn't a bonus. It's the point.

We are genuinely delighted to announce Filthy Organics as a Commis Chef Sponsor of Chefs Up Front.

Filthy Organics is a Broward County composting service. They collect food scraps from homes, businesses, and events, turn them into finished compost, and give it back to the people it came from. Their tagline is "It's a filthy job, and we are pleased to do it," which tells you everything about who they are.

Here's what that means next to our work: we teach kids to grow food, cook food, and eat food. Filthy Organics handles what happens after the plate. That's the whole cycle, soil to kitchen to table and back to soil again.

The Chefs Up Front 2026 silent auction is being built right now, and we've already got items that made us go ""wait, really?"" out loud in the office.

Happy Labor Day.

Today we're thinking about the people whose labor feeds South Florida, like farmworkers, food service staff, cafeteria teams, delivery drivers, and the after-school and senior center staff who make sure a meal actually reaches the person who needs it.

A lot of that work is invisible. It shouldn't be. Thank you.

CELEBRITY CHEF #5: CHEF ADRIANNE CALVO

If you guessed her, you know us well.

Chef Adrianne chef and owner of Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Bar is joining Chefs Up Front as a Celebrity Chef.

Some of you have eaten her food at our own events. She has opened her dining room to FLIPANY, cooked for our supporters, and shown up for this community more times than we can count. So this isn't a booking. It's a homecoming.

For anyone who hasn't met her yet: Adrianne is a Johnson & Wales graduate who trained under Thomas Keller and Cindy Pawlcyn, opened the Vineyard in 2007, has written multiple cookbooks, was named Miami's Best Chef by New Times, and built an entire philosophy around two words — Maximum Flavor.

On October 16, she'll be cooking at a table at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. Possibly yours.

FLIPANY's work runs on partnerships with food banks, farms, schools, parks and rec departments, faith communities, and city programs across Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade. Hundreds of partner sites, all pulling in the same direction.
