Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an innovative, alternative, pathway compared to insurance driven health care.

Typically, a patient pays their doctor a low monthly membership, and in return builds a long lasting relationship.

Justin Voris, M.D., went to medical school to care for people, not fight insurance companies.

His experience in traditional medicine led him to create Core Health, a Direct Primary Care practice built on honest prices, clear answers, and strong relationships with patients.

Dr. Voris says leaving the traditional system changed how he practices medicine: “I feel like I escaped prison. I don’t miss the old system whatsoever.”

We're ONE!

It's been an incredible year of building something different: unhurried visits, same/next-day access for urgent matters, and transparent care built around YOU instead of a claims code or metrics. Starting a practice from scratch (outside the traditional insurance model) comes with real challenges for sure, but it's also been a very rewarding year that didn't just happen because of one person.

Thank you to every individual and family who took a chance on Direct Primary Care, and to the business partners who trusted us with their employees' health. None of it happens without the people who believed in a better way to practice medicine. You didn't just join a practice, you helped build one.

Here's to year two, and to more people discovering what healthcare feels like when someone actually has time for you. We're in this together! Greater things to come.

We are thankful for those who served and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our great nation. In honor and remembering them, our office will be closed on Memorial Day 2026.

Additionally, I’m thankful to have had two grandparents and multiple family members serve our nation.

I wish you could hear the pause on the other end of the line.
“Wait… this is Dr. Voris? The actual doctor?”

Yes. It is.

I can’t tell you how many times someone is completely shocked that the doctor is the one answering the phone or returning a call. And every time, it reminds me just how far we drifted from what medicine is supposed to feel like.

For more than 10 years in the traditional system, I simply didn’t have the time. The schedule was full. The inbox was never ending. The pace was relentless. Phone calls were triaged, filtered, delegated - not because I didn’t care, but because there weren’t enough hours in the day.

Direct Primary Care changed that.

With a smaller patient panel, I actually have margin again. Margin to call someone back. Margin to check in. Margin to have a real conversation instead of a rushed exchange between exam rooms.

Do I delegate some things? Of course. Team-based care matters, but the difference is this: I can call. I do call. When it makes sense for me to be the one on the other end, I’m available.

That availability restores something important - not just for patients, but for me.

It allows me to be a doctor again.
It allows me to feel human again.
It allows me to be a better husband / father.

Honestly, it shouldn’t be surprising when a physician calls their patient.
But here we are…

If you’ve ever been shocked that your doctor answered the phone or returned your call… maybe it’s time we rethink your model.

We all want convenient healthcare, but “convenient” means different things depending on where you show up...

🏥 Traditional Doctor’s office:
You call, get put on hold, and the next available appointment is… next month.
You take time off work, sit in a waiting room, and still get a bill later.
We’ve all been there.

🚑 Urgent care:
This is the “I need help now” option, and it has its place.
You get in fast, get treated, and move on. Quick... Likely with more than you need.
But the next time you’re sick? You’re starting from scratch with someone new.

💻 TeleDoc:
Super helpful for quick stuff.
A weird rash. Psych. Random refill.
Fast and easy, but it only works when the problem is simple.

🩺 Direct Primary Care (DPC)
Now imagine all of that… but connected.
You have one doctor who knows you.
You can schedule a timely office visit, message directly, or hop on a virtual visit (if appropriate).

No copays. No surprise bills. Just a simple monthly membership.

👉 For individuals: fewer work days missed, thoughtful answers, real relationships.
👉 For employers: healthier teams, predictable costs, and less productivity lost to the healthcare maze.

At the end of the day, DPC isn’t about being trendy.
It’s about making healthcare feel honest, transparent, and human again - The way most of us wish it worked all along.

And yes… it really can be that simple.

DPC Practices are on the rise across our nation. We are glad the AAFP is promoting our efforts! Sometimes, DPC gets confused with concierge practices. These medical business models are often lumped together out of convenience, but their incentives and structures are fundamentally different.

Direct Primary Care (DPC):
• Monthly or annual membership
• NO insurance billing
• Lower administrative burden, smaller panels, more physician time per patient

Concierge Medicine:
• Annual retainer plus insurance billing
• Dual-revenue model (retainer + fee-for-service)

What the evidence does show:
• Higher patient satisfaction in both models, largely driven by access and responsiveness
• Higher physician satisfaction and lower burnout in DPC, despite similar work hours
• Lower overhead and potential cost savings in DPC compared to fee-for-service
• Higher total spending in concierge care without clear value justification
• Concierge clinics still have the same requirements from insurance companies to perform certain ways ("metrics") for care delivery.

Bottom line:
DPC and concierge models clearly improve experiences for patients and physicians. One will likely cost you more and "double dip" a retainer fee and insurance payments.
