It was an exciting afternoon as we officially cut the ribbon to open the new Mary Washington Orthopedics in affiliation with FOA location on Sam Perry Blvd. Keep an eye on this channel for more pictures and videos of the event. We are to be able to care for our community by continuing to expand our orthopedic services.

Help us give a warm welcome to our new provider at Mary Washington Orthopedics in affiliation with FOA. Christie Meek, PA-C, brings more than 30 years of experience as a physician assistant, with extensive experience in orthopedics, urgent care, family medicine and occupational health. Her clinical interests include spine care and general orthopedics. In her spare time, Christie enjoys spending time with her family, including her four children and three grandchildren.
Christie will be assisting Dr. Raymond Kirchmier; you'll find her at our new Sam Perry Boulevard office on the Mary Washington Hospital campus and also at our Cosner Drive location.

Shoutout to Alice Martin, the Bariatric Behavioral Health and Wellness Specialist at Mary Washington Weight Loss Center, who has earned National Board Certification from the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC), becoming a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BCBC).

Alice supports patients before and after surgery, leads a weekly support group, partners with fitness centers to create tailored programs, and brings in expert speakers to support long-term success.

What sets her apart? She’s been in her patients’ shoes. As a bariatric patient herself, she combines clinical expertise with real-life experience to guide and support others on their journey.

Her dedication and clinical expertise was recognized with an academic scholarship from AABC to pursue this program, and her new certification reflects a commitment to advancing best practices in obesity care.

Help us give a huge shoutout to the primary class at the Garrisonville Ward of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These sweet kids helped assemble and deliver a pile of boxes to Stafford Hospital for children in our ERs and hospitals. 💙 The kids (and their parents!) who get your boxes will be so excited. Help us give a big shoutout to Charlie and her human, Elisabeth! Charlie has been awarded her “Excellent” therapy dog title from the American Kennel Club for her work in completing over 200 visits since September 2023. To date, she has completed 239 visits, with most at Stafford Hospital. To put it in perspective, the average therapy dog completes about 4 to 8 visits per month! Charlie is a hard working little dog! We're thankful to Elisabeth for not only sharing Charlie with us, but also for the work she does as a member of the Stafford Hospital Auxiliary Board of Managers.

We had a great time celebrating our graduating residents at the Fredericksburg Nationals TMNT game on Saturday! Internal medicine chief resident Ann Baidwan, DO, had the honor of doing the pre-game interview, internal medicine resident Umang Makhijani, MD, threw out the first pitch, and family medicine resident Lucas Hastings, MD, got to sit up in the press box to do the 4th inning interview.
