It started with one participant and a strip of painters' tape.
At our Evansville center, a participant wanted to continue her cardiac rehab close to home, so our team marked a walking track on the day center floor and called it the PACE Path. Then something wonderful happened. Others saw her walking and wanted in.
What began as one person's rehab became a challenge, then a club. 24 participants have logged hundreds of laps together, cheering each other on and showing up even on the gloomy days. One walked more than 200 laps on her own.
Now it's one of everyone's favorite parts of the week. All from a line of tape on the floor.
