Today is National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day. It lands on the last day of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is not an accident either.

KITT is a Kings County program run with Kings County Public Health. Free testing kits. Free treatment. Built for African American and LGBTQ+ communities and for people who can become pregnant, because those are the people the system keeps missing.

Knowing is fifteen minutes. Wondering is however long you let it be.

Seven is not too young to need someone in your corner.

SOL Youth works with young people in Kings County, ages 7 to 17. Not with a lecture about drugs. With relationships, family support, and real seats at the tables where decisions about their neighborhoods get made.

Trauma informed is a phrase people throw around. Here it means we start with what happened to a kid, not what is wrong with one.

Funded by Kings County Behavioral Health.

Today is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day.

More than half the people living with HIV in the United States are over age fifty.

Aging well means care that treats the whole person. 🤍
Regular testing is the only way to know your HIV status. Early detection links individuals to treatment right away.

Hispanic Heritage Month starts today. Three of our programs were already named in Spanish.

Si Se Puede. Unidos Por Salud. Compromiso Adelante.

Not translated after the fact. Named that way from the start, because Tulare County is 67 percent Latino, Parlier is 97, and a program that shows up in a language you had to learn is asking for something before it offers anything.

Thirty days of this month left. We plan to spend them the way we spend the other 335.

The most important members of our team rarely sit behind a desk.

Community health workers, promotoras, and care navigators are the reason our programs actually reach the communities they were built for. They speak the language. They live in the neighborhood. They hold the kind of trust no institution can manufacture.

For over 40 years, this has been the California Health Collaborative approach: care that comes to the person, delivered by people who understand the community from the inside.

Aging in California is not one conversation.

For some families it is housing. For others, food security or medication access. For many, it is the quiet reality that the family caregiver was never trained for the job they now hold.

California Health Collaborative's Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP) supports older adults and their families with care coordination and in-home support, so people can keep living in the homes and communities they built.
