Tonight was a time to celebrate! 50 women were recognized as 'Rising Together' Women who value connections, empowering and supporting each other. I was privileged to be a part of the group nominated by Susan Sienko Smalley, formerly with West Michigan Woman Magazine. I had the opportunity to connect with others and see some friends I haven't seen for awhile (it's been a long winter! lol). Thank you to Heather Mahoney Co for making all of this possible and creating a great community.
Rooted in Wisdom – Guided by Experience – Nourished by Nature.
Some women rise loudly. Others rise steadily — like the sun — faithful, warm, and life-giving. Dr. Hollie Schipper is the latter. As a Naturopathic Doctor and founder of Harmonic Wellness, she is now helping others remember something both simple and revolutionary: your body was designed to heal, and you are allowed to participate in that healing.
Her work is not about quick fixes or symptom suppression, but about partnership — listening deeply and restoring balance in body, mind, and spirit. Blending science, experience, and intuition, she uses a root-cause approach to uncover what lies beneath symptoms and restore true homeostasis. She creates sacred space where clients feel seen and heard, gently reminding them that healing is not linear but layered — expanding, awakening, becoming — and that even the smallest step in the right direction can change a life.
More than twenty-five years ago, Hollie faced her own turning point. After a severe upper respiratory illness culminated in pneumonia, she realized she had a choice: continue managing symptoms or take radical responsibility for her health. She chose responsibility. She researched, studied, experimented, and prayed. In the process, her personal healing ignited a calling. What began as restoration became purpose.
Today, she holds a Doctorate in Naturopathy along with advanced certifications in digestive health, reflexology, natural health, herbology, flower essences, and more. She continues to study — not because she has something to prove, but because wisdom deepens when curiosity remains alive. In her 70s, she is still learning, still refining, still rising.
After two successful careers spanning four decades, a degree in Computer Information Systems, Hollie finally stepped fully into the dream she had carried since childhood — becoming a doctor. Life took unexpected paths, but each experience prepared her for the work she now does. With over a decade in active Naturopathic practice, she has helped women reconnect with themselves and feel whole again physically and emotionally. She embraces the gray hair, the wrinkles, the bumps along the way, even broken bones, modeling what it means for women in their seventh and eighth decades to stand confidently in their wisdom while remaining nurtured by nature.
In 2024, she expanded her impact by launching an Academy (www.harmonicholisticacademy.com) dedicated to training future naturopathic and holistic health practitioners. This comprehensive 300-hour online program equips students not only to build successful practices but also to confidently support their own families. Her leadership reflects her belief that rising is not meant to be solitary — we rise together. Mentoring and teaching has become a true passion.
There is quiet strength in Hollie. Through life, relationships, motherhood, grandmotherhood, she has learned that self-respect is not arrogance — it is alignment. Protecting one’s peace is sacred. Choosing silence over chaos is strength. Releasing expectations that shrink you is freedom. She moves gently through the world, no longer explaining herself or forcing connection, teaching women that they are allowed to protect their energy and outgrow narratives that no longer serve them.
Beyond credentials and consultations, Hollie is a grandmother of ten. She delights in time with friends and family, hiking and backpacking, photography, gardening, music, and living the vitality she teaches. Her true sanctuary is the shore of Lake Michigan, where the rhythm of waves reminds her to breathe deeply and live fully. She believes in celebrating small wins, in pausing when the weight feels heavy, and in extending compassion inward as generously as she offers it to others.
Her legacy is not only about restoring health. It is about restoring belief. It is reminding women that age is not decline — it is refinement. That wisdom ripens with time. That the more at peace you become, the more powerful your presence becomes.
If she could speak to her younger self, she would say: Self-care is self-love. Celebrate your successes. Walk confidently toward your dreams, never let anyone limit who you are becoming, and never stop learning.
Dr. Hollie Schipper ND continues to rise — not for applause, but for alignment — and as she rises, she lifts others with her. With her wisdom highlights, pearls, and vintage hats, she embodies a woman who has learned, step by step, to honor herself and live authentically.
