They say doula work ends after the immediate postpartum period, but for me, the doors never close. 🚪✨
I never delete a contact, and I never change the special ringtone I set for my clients. Because once you invite me into your birth space, you are family for life.
This year, over 20 of my sweet doula babies are turning one. While their newborn days are behind them, my bond with their families has only grown. I’ve been blessed to step in and babysit, continue connecting mothers with vital resources, and in one beautiful, unexpected instance—I now co-parent a client’s dog! She has become my own emotional support animal, helping me and my family navigate and adapt to life again. 🐕❤️
Supporting families during their most vulnerable, sacred moments is a massive honor. But what many people don’t know is that birth is a two-way street: witnessing new life and holding space for these families is exactly what helps me heal from my own grief.
To all my doula babies and the fierce parents who birthed them—I am always just a phone call away. 📞🙏🏾

NC is currently a deeply hostile state for reproductive freedom, but seeing it on paper vs. hearing it at the Abortion Access Now event hits differently. 💔
Right now, politicians are trying to push extreme measures like Bill 1232, which would classify abortion as 1st-degree murder. This isn’t just an attack on healthcare; it’s a direct threat to the safety and autonomy of women and anyone who supports them.
People always ask: What can we do?
First, we get people out of office who don’t understand the basic complexities of reproduction. Second, we organize, we train, and we prepare to fight back.
I go to these events with one goal: active advocacy. We need to protect women in hospitals, in policy, and in society. Period. WE NEED TO BE PROTECTED IN ALL THE SPACES. ✊🏾✨

Advocacy in action! ✊🏾✨
Today I stood with NC4CPMs at the State Capitol to fight for birth justice in North Carolina. Currently, our state ranks #51 in midwifery integration—this has to change. With infant mortality rates on the rise, families deserve access to professional, community-based care.
We are advocating to make it legal for Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) to provide the essential care families need for home births. 🏠🤱🏾
The best part? We are building the future of this workforce right now. My midwifery school, A Wombman’s Way Warrior Midwife Training, is officially Pre-MEAC accredited! 🎓 We are training the next generation of highly skilled CPMs who will be ready to step in and serve our communities.
Huge shout-out to the legislators who met with us today—especially those who shared they are “doing the work for us in legislation.” We see you, and we thank you! 🏛️🙌🏾
The work continues until every family in NC has the right to a safe, supported, and professional birth of their choice.
