By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:
1️⃣ Define human trafficking and distinguish it from other forms of exploitation.
2️⃣ Understand why trafficking remains a pervasive issue in the United States, including social, economic, and cultural factors driving its growth.
3️⃣ Identify who perpetrates trafficking, including both traffickers and buyers, and understand the motivations behind their actions.

Ambassador Narek Mkrtchyan participated as a special guest in the Family Focused Treatment Association (FFTA) event held at the U.S. Congress, titled “Driving Policy in Action for the Good of Families.” Within the framework of the event, he met with Treva Johnson, Co-organizer of the event and Director of Public Policy & State Partnerships at FFTA, as well as Chris Patterson, Administrator of the Northwest Region at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The importance of ensuring the well-being of children and families, and advancing the foster care system at both community and state levels, was emphasized. Reference was also made to the policies pursued by the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the development of this system.

Within the framework of the event, the FFTA Public Policy Institute brought together representatives of government agencies, policymakers, experts, and individuals with lived experience to examine the prospects for the development of the foster care system, established priorities, and the opportunities for their implementation.
