Do you ever find yourself wondering “why am I breaking out again?” 💭
There may be a few acne triggers that you’re overlooking.
Common triggers:
✨Makeup brushes/ sponges- these collect oil, bacteria, dead skin cells, and makeup residue. When not cleaned regularly, they can transfer those impurities right back onto your skin.
✨Hair products- Many hair products contain oils, waxes, and heavy ingredients that can transfer from your hair to your skin. This can clog pores along the forehead, temples, and hairline.
✨Stress- When you’re stressed, your body produces more cortisol and other hormones that can increase oil production, inflammation, and the likelihood of breakouts.
✨Reusing towels- Damp towels create an ideal environment for bacteria to grow. Reusing face towels can spread bacteria, oil, and dead skin cells back onto freshly cleansed skin.
✨Pillowcases- While you sleep, pillowcases absorb oil, sweat, skincare products, and bacteria. Sleeping on the same pillowcase for too long can expose your skin to acne-causing buildup night after night.
✨Phone screen- Your phone comes into contact with many things throughout the day. When held against your face, it can transfer dirt, oil, and bacteria directly onto your skin.
